Akio Toyoda has confirmed that the Toyota GR GT will be unveiled at the end of this year. It was announced during a recent live stream (around 43 mins into the video). We were expecting much more, but this is all we got. That being said, our sources tell us that the car will be officially announced on December 4, before its public reveal at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January 2026.
A big billboard featuring a teaser of the GR GT alongside the Lexus LFA and 2000GT was recently installed at the Fuji Speedway. This led to speculations that Toyota might reveal or at least share more details of its new sports car. It seems we will have to wait for a few months for that.
The highly anticipated Lexus LFR will be based on the same underpinnings as the GR GT. It was showcased in concept form at Pebble Beach in August this year.
The Lexus LFR is expected to be powered by a brand-new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 paired with a hybrid system. The internal combustion engine is said to produce around 720 hp, while the hybrid will provide another 180 hp.
