McLaren W1 spotted undisguised at Circuit de Catalunya in Spain


A McLaren W1 was recently spotted in Spain. The hypercar was captured on camera by @acidcarss at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, which is the home of the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix.

Now, we’ve seen prototypes of the W1 testing on public roads before. However, this one looks different. Considering it is a pre-production test mule, the car isn’t covered in camouflage like the prototypes that were spotted earlier. It is also fitted with the same set of multi-spoke wheels that were seen in the Arctic testing video.

The W1 is the most powerful road car ever made by McLaren. It uses an all-new 4.0-liter V8 hybrid powertrain that produces 1258 hp and 988 lb-ft of torque. The engine revs to 9200 rpm, which is the highest among all McLaren road car powertrains.

The W1 weighs just 1399 kg and has a power-to-weight ratio of 911 PS per tonne. McLaren claims the W1 can sprint from 0-124 mph in just 5.8 seconds.

CELINE Spring 2026: A Return to Form & Finally Inclusive?

Most of us are too young to remember CELINE’s Michael Kors era, but we came of age under Phoebe Philo’s reign — old Céline, if you will. And while Hedi Slimane’s takeover was met with plenty of side-eye, especially when he swapped out Philo’s Philo’s cerebral elegance with a sharper, more rebellious edge, let’s be real here: he’s since made us eat our words.

Slimane’s razor-sharp vision became the blueprint for modern cool, and his CELINE was everything we came to associate with the now: effortless, aloof, and just the right kind of undone. It didn’t help when the Hedi-era boy/girl resurfaced from the depths of digital archives thanks to obsessive self-proclaimed fashion archivists, which made the brand feel sharper than ever. So when Michael Rider — a designer who spent a decade under Philo during her CELINE years — was named as the house’s next creative lead, it wasn’t surprising that some critics bristled.

We didn’t. Why wouldn’t a designer raised in the school of fashion provocation return to a house hungry for more? But to understand why Rider’s appointment makes sense, we need to examine what wasn’t working. Slimane’s CELINE was plagued by valid concerns: that it had a tendency towards clothing so small it seemed deliberately exclusionary; that it had an aesthetic that felt hostile to bodies outside of sample sizes; that it offered a vision bordering on sacrilege in an era defined by democratised fashion discourse and ED TikTok edits. At its worst, Slimane’s CELINE felt like it belonged only to the models wearing it — not the culture consuming it.

Thankfully, we can safely say that association is gone now. Rider’s opening statement with the CELINE Spring 2026 collection frees the brand from that narrative, and maybe, frees the rest of us too. While Slimane’s CELINE honed in on one kind of individual, Rider’s CELINE throws the doors wide open. It’s saturated with a sense of density and fluidity, necessity and improvisation, but also experimentation and fun.

Rather than rejecting the past, the CELINE Spring 2026 collection worked to rebalance all aspects of it. There were callbacks, of course, with clear nods to CELINE’s layered history. Trousers drawn from Philo’s playbook. Peplumed jackets that felt distinctly Michael Kors-coded. Menswear silhouettes that retained Slimane’s biker-cool aesthetic, though this time with more breathing room. It felt like all eras of CELINE at once, though the CELINE Spring 2026 collection also leaned into an ‘80s sensibility — slightly preppy, yet vibrating at a higher frequency than what we’ve seen before at other houses.

Scarves — which were also wrapped by Emiko Oguri on the show invites —  was a recurring motif, functioning as a versatile, expressive accessory that grounded the collection in both physical and emotional fluidity. The bags made that intention unmistakable too, with the return of Philo’s iconic Phantom and Rider styles (some even offered zippers in the shape of a subtle yet cheeky smile, offers a confident nod to her legacy and cementing future ‘It’ bags in the market.

It’s noteworthy that Rider’s debut is not about removing what came before but evolving with clarity. By anchoring the show in CELINE’s historic headquarters in Paris and weaving past design codes into something new, Rider signals that this reset, with the reintroduction of all eras, is inherently deliberate. As Rider himself puts it: “Coming back to CELINE, and to Paris, back to 16 rue Vivienne in a changed world, has been incredibly emotional for me. And a complete joy. CELINE stands for quality, for timelessness and for style, ideals that are difficult to catch, and even harder to hold on to, to define, despite more and more talk about them out there.”

He added in his letter that “we worked on translating them into a way of dressing – that attitude, or attitudes, that we feel describe who we are and what we stand for. I’ve always loved the idea of clothing that lives on, that becomes a part of the wearer’s life, that may capture a moment in time but also speaks to years and years of gestures and occasions and change, of the past, the present andthe future, of memories, of usefulness and of fantasy, of life really.”

So in returning to CELINE, Michael Rider hasn’t just revisited the codes of the house but worked to reawakened the past souls of the brand. His debut was deliberately soft, without any signs of seeking for a grand spectacle. Instead, it does what any well-developed collection does: it listens, references, and reinterprets without overthinking things. It acknowledges the past without clinging on to it and looks to the future without abandoning what made CELINE, or even Céline, matter in the first place.

Thus, it’s clear that Rider’s CELINE doesn’t seek immediate perfection — and it’s not, don’t take it the wrong way. There are many ways in which the collection could have done better. Though, one thing’s for sure: it seeks the truth. In doing so, it gives the house a renewed sense of purpose and an opportunity for those who were excluded a new reason to believe in the brand. And CELINE, at last, feels like it has grown into itself today — just as we have over the years.

A Porsche 911 GT3 RS and a BMW M2 had a massive crash at the Nurburgring this weekend. The accident happened during the Touristenfahrten session on July 5, 2025.

Videos posted on social media show the moment of impact and the aftermath of the accident. In the first video, you can see the Porsche approaching the M2. The driver of the M2 was clearly aware of the traffic and pulled to the side. However, just when the GT3 RS is about to pass on the inside, the M2 driver turns into the corner, clipping the rear end of the Porsche.

The slight bump sends both cars flying into the barrier at high speed. The Porsche is flung across the racetrack in a massive fireball. The impact was so severe that the front bulkhead on the GT3 RS got completely ripped off.

Fortunately, both drivers survived the fiery accident, which could’ve been avoided with a little bit of caution. Opinions on social media are split over who is to blame – Some say that the BMW driver is at fault, while others pin the blame on the over-aggressive Porsche.

We believe both drivers share the blame for this unfortunate crash. Yes, the GT3 RS driver was a bit too restless and could’ve overtaken the BMW on the straightaway after the corner. On the other hand, the M2 driver could’ve slowed down a bit more and taken a wider line to let the GT3 RS pass safely.

This Women’s-only Summer Camp in the French Countryside Had a 10,000-person Waitlist

Within 24 hours of content creator Allison Wolf posting a reel of her time at Camp Château, both Kimberly Green and Lindsey Zurn had booked a stay at the women’s-only camp in southern France this summer.

The post, which has more 24 million views to date, is a mood board of the French country idyll: days spent swishing around a fairy-tale medieval château in floaty dresses with a never-ending glass of rosé. Wolf spoke of waking up to deer grazing in the fields each morning and participating in a pick-and-mix style of activities, including horseback riding, kayaking, yoga, and making jam.

“I stayed at a women’s-only summer camp at a château in the French countryside, and yes, it was as dreamy and magical as it sounds,” Wolf said in the reel. She called it “the most relaxing, wholesome travel experience.”

“Once I saw Allison’s Instagram reel, I knew the camp was going to go viral, so I booked immediately—within 30 minutes,” Green, a 31-year-old art director from New York, told Travel + Leisure. She forwarded it to her friend, Zurn, who also booked on the same day.

For Zurn, the camp felt refreshingly different from a typical vacation. With their departure quickly approaching, she’s “excited to disconnect from everyday stresses, connect with new people, and immerse [herself] in everything from French lessons to cooking and art—all while living in the French countryside.”

Five days after Wolf’s post, Camp Château was officially sold out for 2025. Last summer, it had more than 10,000 women on its waitlist. When 2026 dates were released at the end of summer 2024, the season sold out in seven minutes (900 places over nine weeks).

Some of the other offered activities include Paint n Sip and Horseback Riding.

Camp Château’s founder, Philippa Girling, admits the incredible popularity of the camp has taken her by surprise. Born in the United Kingdom and having lived in Los Angeles for three decades, she and her children had fallen for a château for sale in the village of Béduer, north of Toulouse in the little-known but thoroughly enchanting Lot Valley, a place where she vacationed as a child. “We didn’t need a château, but we felt like women did, so we quickly went from falling in love with the building to a conversation about a summer camp for women where they could come to this beautiful part of France and just be,” she told T+L.

Girling has hit on a winning formula: a magical setting, completely removed from the everyday; activities women can dip in and out of as they wish; and the chance to bond with other women—all in a safe, judgement-free environment.

“Our mission was to create this lovely, relaxing space where women could come and feel like they could take off all the masks they have to wear and not work on themselves because they were already awesome,” Girling explained.

Attendees either sleep in bunks in the château or glamping tents on the grounds. It’s capped at 50 people per session, but a second property opening in a similarly fairy-tale French setting, in the Ariège region of southwest France, in 2026 will hopefully ease some of the pressure on the waitlist.

Made up of solo travelers, groups of friends, and mother-daughter duos, around 80 percent of the campers are from North America, and the demographic is broad. “We have people coming in their 20s and their late 70s,” she said. “We have a lot of young women at the feet of older women, listening to their wisdom, and older women hearing younger women share their enthusiasm and energy for life.”

Girling said the best side of people comes out over the course of the camp. “When you take 50 women, put them together, and tell them they are enough and that they deserve a break, they are incredibly kind to each other,” she said.

Camp Château may be the original, but others are now popping up around France following the same premise: for women only, with an emphasis on curating your own experience in an enchanting French setting. Less than three hours from Paris, Château du Tremblay has been in Louis d’Armaillé’s family since it was built in the mid-14th century. With partner Lua Andersen, the pair has their first women’s-only summer camps planned for later this year.

“We’re going to offer a lot of creative activities: painting, cooking classes, French lessons, and crafts where you can decorate your own picture frames, hair clips, hairbrushes—small items you can bring home as memories,” said Andersen. What’s more, the family has its own vineyard, so plenty of wine tastings and tours will also be on the schedule.

Anderson, who is currently juggling setting up the camps with a corporate job in Paris, says the château is where she reconnects with nature and recharges her batteries on weekends—and wants others to feel its magic. “It’s a place where you can do a lot of things you would never do in your everyday life,” she added. Like Camp Château, Château du Tremblay’s summer camps will last five days. Guests will sleep in one of the property’s 17 bedrooms in groups of two or three, though single rooms will also be possible.

If there was one corner of France primed for such an experience, it’s the lavender-scented landscapes of Provence. In an aristocratic residence near Cassis on the Mediterranean coast, Camp Joli is prepping itself for its second season.

Among the inaugural attendees last year was Meagan Rose, who visited with a group of content creators in September 2024. “I had no idea what to expect. I just knew I was going to stay in this beautiful castle, and it truly changed my life,” she said.

“Every day, you had the opportunity to choose your own journey, whether you wanted to sign up for every activity or sit back and relax by the pool all day,” she added. Horseback riding, baking bread, excursions to local villages, and a watercolor painting class were some of the electives Rose participated in.

Her best memories, however, are the friendships she created. “I genuinely believe I’ve found lifelong friends through this, and I’m still in touch with these girls to this day. I’m so grateful I got to experience it,” she said.

Arguably what’s also driving the popularity of these camps is value for money. Six days, five nights at Camp Château in 2026 costs €2,400 ($2,800), a price that includes accommodations, meals, snacks, beverages, three-plus electives per day, and two-plus excursions. Meanwhile, Camp Joli starts from €1,999 (about $2,350) for accommodations, meals (prepared by a private chef), and electives. Five nights at Château du Tremblay will set you back €1,950 ($2,200), also including accommodations, meals, and activities.

It’s been just over a week since the track-focused Koenigsegg Sadair’s Spear made its global debut. The new limited-edition hypercar is a lighter and more powerful version of the standard Jesko. It also features a unique aero package, which is now being put through its paces on a prototype.

A Koenigsegg prototype fitted with aero bits from the Sadair’s Spear was recently spotted near the factory. The test car is based on the Jesko Absolut but features an extended front splitter, dive planes, side skirts, fender louvres and a NACA duct on the nose. The rear wing, though, is the same as the Jesko Attack.

Besides the upgraded aero package, the Sadair’s Spear also weighs 35 kg less than the standard Jesko. It is powered by a twin-turbo V8 engine, which delivers 1625 hp on E85 fuel, up from 1300 hp.

The result of all these modifications is a much quicker car overall. Koenigsegg claims that the Sadair’s Spear laps the Gotland Ring racetrack 1.1 seconds faster than the Jesko Attack.

This makes the island pretty crowded and even more so when the cruise ships arrive in Naples. This isn’t a bad thing on its own merit. It means people visiting Capri are spending their money within the local community, but it does mean that the island can get quite busy, especially in the summer.

Now, if you want to avoid the majority of the crowds in Capri, make sure to either visit in the shoulder seasons. For instance, trips in April and May or September and October can be markedly calmer than in the height of August. There are only a handful of cruise ships that continue into the Autumn and winter period, and this can make a marked difference in visitor numbers to Capri. 

However, don’t if you’re not visiting in the more popular summer months. If you are visiting on a cruise or have specific travel dates in mind, you can still make the most out of a trip to Capri and avoid as many of the crowds as possible. 

Now, most of the cruise ships offer day trip excursions that arrive in Capri around 10:00 -11:00 am, with most departing the island at around 4:00-5:00 pm. This means the island quietens down quite considerably once the day trippers have gone. If you’re planning your trip to Capri (without being on a cruise), book a much earlier ferry from Naples and enjoy a much quieter morning on the island. This way, you can have a fair few hours without the crowds. 

If you’re visiting the wider region on a cruise, then you will likely be part of the crowds. Though you can still minimise being around big groups by steering clear of the specific excursions and drop-off points that are organised by the cruise ship’s shore excursions. Book these independent tours (which are much quieter and usually significantly cheaper than Cruise shore excursion prices) before you arrive. This way, you can book small group tours or private tours that’ll give you that amazing Capri experience without the hustle and bustle that usually comes with summer on the island. We’ve found that so helpful.

Now, to get here from Marina Grande (the point most people arrive on the island of Capri), you’ll either need to take a shuttle bus, the funicular (Google Maps pin) or a private taxi to the town itself. Now, bear in mind that prices can be steep once you arrive in Capri. Cars are limited on the island, and you really are at the whim of taxi drivers and what they want to charge.

If you opt for the funicular, the journey time is about 6 minutes and costs a few euros each way. They tend to run every 15 minutes or so, and it’s really helpful in the heat of summer.

Though if you’re not from the EU, they do offer tax-free shopping, so make sure you have your passport with you if you’re planning on doing some damage.

Getting peckish? There are heaps of restaurants to choose from in Capri Town. We loved the freshly-made pizza and pasta from Buca di Bacco (Google Maps pin). Plus, their prices are very reasonable. Alternatively, head over to Al Grottino (Google Maps pin). Another gem in Capri Town that’s not overly expensive and serves up wholesome fresh seafood that’s so good. Their calamari was amazing! For a higher-end type of dining, head to Godò Capri, which focuses on Japanese cuisine. They have an amazing cocktail menu and tasty sushi boxes. 

For a wine, head over to Salotto Bohèmien. They have heaps of Italian wines to choose from, and it’s right next to Piazzetta di Capri, making it really easy to stop off for a tipple.

2.) Anacapri 

The other ‘big’ town on Capri, Anacapri, is much higher in altitude on the island and requires either a bus journey or a private taxi to get there.

Now, one word on the roads, they are windy, tiny and very tight! If you’re not used to small European roads, you may find this trip daunting, especially as the drivers weave in and out at what can only be described as the speed of light!

Once here, make sure to explore the area around Piazza della Vittoria (Google Maps pin) and visit some of the little stores and shops along the way. This is the area where most transportation methods will stop and drop you off, and makes for the perfect spot to stroll around the town.

We loved the pizza at Casa Orlandi (which is always made fresh-to-order). Also, you’ve got Sciue’ Sciue’, another gem of a restaurant to visit for lunch.

Then, after filling your tummy, head over to explore some of Anacapri’s gorgeous churches. Now, don’t expect them to be on the same scale as the Duomo in Florence, but they are worth a gander if you’re strolling around the town. Make sure to stop off at the Church of Saint Sophia (Google Maps pin) and the Church of San Michele (Google Maps pin), which dates back almost 300 years. 

Afterwards, you can head up on the Capri Cable Car and visit Villa San Michele, that are in Anacapri itself. I’ll go into the specifics of these spots next.

Now, the Monte Solaro Chair Lift, within Anacapri, might just be one of the island’s biggest draws. In fact, I’d go as far as saying it’s one of the best things to do in Capri for views, especially from the summit of Monte Solaro. Now, we always find Marina Grande a hive of activity – it never feels quiet, especially with all the arrivals and departures on the island of Capri. That being said, there are a few gems to visit when you arrive at Marina Grande.

For a chilled afternoon, you can stop off at Le Ondine Beach Club. It’s a pretty chilled spot where you can grab an aperitif or lunch and take a dip at the beach. Of course, like most places in Capri, it’s not a sandy beach (more of a rocky bay), but it’s lovely for a dip if you have time whilst waiting for your ferry back to the mainland.

Alternatively, you can head to Cala Grande Beach (Google Maps pin), which is a short 10-minute walk from the ferry docking port. Again, expect a stony beach, but it’s lovely for a dip in the heat of summer.

Now, the restaurants here don’t really hit the mark in terms of quality (or price). Just be aware you’ll be getting tourist pricing and not the best quality food. That being said, the location is worth it, even if you’re just getting pizza (which most places in Italy never get wrong). If you did decide to eat at Marina Piccolao, I’d head over to La Palma Beach Club. You can also rent sun loungers here (which typically are about 75-100 euros each. Their not cheap, but nothing is in Capri.

Still, the beach area is gorgeous. Stony, but gorgeous.

A hike to the highest point on Capri is a must if you want to exert yourself and burn off some of that delicious pasta and gelato you’ve been scoffing in Italy. That being said, it can be gruelling in the heat of summer and the Monte Solaro hike, via Anacapri, can be challenging. Again, this isn’t due to the length of the hike, but more so because of the heat. It can be unbearable in the midday sun, so only attempt this hike if you have adequate supplies and know the routes well in advance. 

Now, to make things easy, follow this All Trails route that details the full route that you can download and follow. Give yourself plenty of time to complete the hike and know it’s okay to turn back if you’re not feeling it. After all, it’s the same route as the chair lift, and you’ll get the same view from the summit.

Sailing through Croatia, with Yacht Getaways, for one unforgettable week on a catamaran is nothing short of a dream brought to life. With a seasoned captain at the helm guiding you through the turquoise Adriatic Sea, and a friendly skipper preparing thoughtful breakfasts and lunches each day, your only task is to embrace the rhythm of the sea. From the charm of hidden coves and quiet island villages to the vibrant energy of cities like Hvar and Dubrovnik, each stop reveals a new layer of Croatia’s beauty. Dive into crystal-clear waters whenever your heart desires, swim among untouched bays, and let the sun-soaked breeze carry your worries away. It’s a journey of freedom, discovery, and soul-deep relaxation where every sunrise promises a new adventure and every sunset leaves you more in love with the sea. This was our second adventure with Yacht Getaways, and I already see a third booking in the future.

DAY ONE – ELAPHITI ISLANDS:

1) Fuel Up Before Boarding

Before setting sail on your Croatian catamaran adventure, stop for lunch at Zephyrus Restaurant & Pool Bar, conveniently located at the Dubrovnik Marina. This vibrant spot offers the perfect pre-departure experience, with a lively atmosphere, upbeat music, and a bustling patio filled with fellow travelers and locals alike. Guests can relax beside a large pool, enjoy a stunning view of the marina, and fuel up with a well-curated menu. Standout dishes include the wood-fired pizza, the creamy pistachio burrata, and the fresh, flavorful octopus salad- all served with flair and generous portions. Whether gathering with your crew or enjoying one last land-based meal before the open sea, Zephyrus combines great food, great vibes, and a perfect location to kick off your sailing journey.

Step aboard a 45-foot catamaran and settle into the comfort of your floating sanctuary featuring four bedrooms, each with a private bathroom. The layout is designed for both social connection and quiet retreat. Inside, the catamaran is immaculately clean, well-stocked, and tastefully outfitted, with ample natural light pouring through panoramic windows and sea breezes drifting through open hatches. Whether sipping morning coffee in the airy salon or unwinding in your cozy cabin after a day in the sun, every detail is designed to make you feel at home while at sea.

3) Explore an Island Populated by 200 people

Tucked away on Šipan Island, one of the lesser-known gems of the Elaphiti Islands, Suđurađ is a peaceful coastal village that feels like a world apart. With just three charming cafés and one quaint hotel, this quiet harbor town offers a slice of authentic Adriatic life- slow, scenic, and beautifully simple. Surprisingly, everything stays open until midnight, giving visitors plenty of time to enjoy a lazy sunset dinner or a late-night espresso by the sea. A long, rugged path leads to the island’s main town, adding to your adventure. Days here are best spent in the crystal-clear waters, where you can swim, snorkel, and float undisturbed, surrounded by natural beauty. But the real magic begins after dark when you sit by the water and gaze at the night sky as it deepens, with neighboring cities twinkling in the distance, blending softly with the stars above. Suđurađ is not about excitement; it’s about stillness, starlight, and serenity- the kind of place that lingers in your memory long after you leave.

We had a delightful dinner on the outdoor patio at Hotel Bozica, overlooking the calm sea on a little island removed from the rest of the world. The truffle beef filet was rich and tender, the sea bass fresh and perfectly cooked, and the cheese ravioli full of flavor. With the breathtaking view and serene setting, it offered a relaxed and memorable meal. This hotel is quite magical and a perfect escape for those seeking solitude by the sea.

1) Caffeinate Like Never Before

Waking up to endless blue seas outside your window, stepping out of your perfectly cooled cabin to find a fresh pot of coffee waiting, and sipping it in solitude with only the gentle rhythm of the waves and the embrace of Mother Nature is a dreamlike way to start your day.

Emma, our hostess, prepared a lovely morning meal of French toast, fresh fruit, and a yogurt spread. Since I am the cook at home, I love a vacation where someone cooks for me.

3) Swim and Stare into Serendipity

You can reach certain hidden, pristine, and untouched places on this planet by boat only. A journey on water allows you to uncover the world’s best-kept secrets. To park in the middle of nowhere and get lost in the aqua waters and gorgeous backdrop is a blessing you will forever cherish.

4) Breezy Bites on the Bluest Water

While you’re swimming in Paradise in the clear, blue waters of Mljet, your hostess will prepare a scrumptious homemade lunch to be ready upon your arrival back on the boat. We were treated to a delectable meal with grilled halloumi, beef kebabs, and a yummy salad.

5) Rent an E-Bike and Explore a National Park

Renting an e-bike is a great way to explore the unfathomable beauty of Mljet National Park at your own pace. The forested trails wind gently around the park’s clear, turquoise lakes, offering peaceful views and cool shade as you ride freely through the picturesque landscape. One of the highlights is taking a small boat to the island in the middle of Veliko Jezero, where you can visit a historic monastery and enjoy a cold drink and ice cream at the quiet lakeside restaurant. Along the way, there are plenty of remote spots perfect for a quiet swim, without a soul in sight. The €25 per person entrance fee is on the higher side, but we spent four hours riding, exploring, and relaxing in the tranquil setting, and it felt well worth the price tag. This piece of heaven is one of the most magnificent you’ll ever visit.

6) Eat a Meal Prepared for Hours

Konoba Antika, a well-loved restaurant in the Polače region of Mljet, offers a truly memorable dining experience, especially if you plan ahead. Their “under the bell” specialties, a traditional way of slow-cooking meats for hours over hot coals, must be ordered two days in advance, but the results are more than worth the wait. We savored a long, relaxed seaside meal that showcased the best of local flavors: rich cheeses, warm, freshly baked bread, a vibrant octopus salad, hand-rolled pasta, and perfectly grilled sea bass caught just that morning. But the standout was the “under the bell” lamb – tender, deeply flavorful, and served in a large, rustic pot that was returned to the kitchen completely emptied. Every bite was a celebration of slow food done right.

1) Breakfast with a Breeze

Waking up to breakfast already made, surrounded by the vast blue sea and a light breeze, is a simple kind of comfort. It’s a perfect, quiet start that makes the morning easy and unhurried.

2) Play in the Middle of Nowhere

Having a boat gives you the freedom to go where you want, when you want. You can stop in a quiet cove or drift aimlessly, enjoying the sea without anyone around. There’s no schedule, just an open space and time to take it all in.

3) Mesmerizing Moments at Monastery Bay

Words hardly do justice to the stunning beauty of Monastery Bay, with its turquoise waters, scattered islands, and the gracefully preserved monastery watching over it all. Gliding through the bay on paddleboards felt like drifting through the Garden of Eden, pure, untouched, and completely breathtaking.

4) Lunch with a Lovely View

Today, our hostess made us a loaded baked potato with grilled veggies and a fresh salad, enjoyed with chilled wine and, of course, the most beautiful backdrop of blue waters and lush, green mountains.

5) Disembark to Discover Korčula

Gelato aRoma offers the most enticing flavors of creamy and glorious gelato to help you cool down on those hot, summer European days. The flavors are absolutely divine; I went for the peanut butter crisp and hazelnut.

6) Wander Through Stone and Sea

Korčula, a charming Croatian island, boasts a café-lined promenade offering stunning views of the Adriatic Sea and passing sailboats. Its architecture blends Venetian Gothic and medieval styles, with terracotta rooftops and stone facades evoking centuries of coastal history. Winding alleys lead through the fortified old town, home to historical landmarks like the purported birthplace of Marco Polo. You’ll love strolling through this lovely town.

Aurora called our name with its waterfront views, cocktail menu, and availability of fresh, local oysters. This is a perfect spot to cool down, people watch, and regroup for more explorations.

8) Savor Culinary Masterpieces

LD Restaurant is the only restaurant on the island of Korčula to earn a Michelin Star. It is a true culinary gem that perfectly marries Mediterranean cuisine with delicate Asian influences, creating a unique and unforgettable dining experience. Every dish showcases incredible attention to detail, where each bite is thoughtfully crafted to balance flavors, textures, and presentation flawlessly. Their tasting menu is not only a feast for the eyes with beautifully plated creations, but also a masterful journey for your palate, making LD truly deserving of a Michelin star.

9) Celebrate Half New Year’s

Celebrating “half” New Year’s on June 30th is a Korčulan tradition that brings hundreds of locals to the street as they celebrate in themed costumes with their groups, singing and dancing happily while parading on the promenade. The playful parade is followed by a large party at the town square with live music, food vendors, and plenty of fun.

Wake up to another tempting breakfast spread, accompanied by a pot of freshly brewed coffee. Today, we enjoyed our meal on the move, drifting past islands as we headed toward Hvar. Sipping coffee while taking in the spectacular scenery creates a peaceful rhythm, a perfect pause that turns the journey into a cherished part of the adventure.

A highlight of island hopping on a catamaran for a week is the daily stretches of sailing that last two to three hours in the open sea with a vast blue landscape dotted by green islands and occasional lighthouses. The solitude out at sea provides a sense of serenity like no other.

3) Park in Pakleni Islands for Snorkeling and Lunch

The Pakleni islands are located off the island of Hvar, which provides numerous coves for boats to dock and for passengers to swim in the translucent water. This nook on earth is one of our favorites as the water is deliciously warm and pristine, and fish like to play here too. We felt like we were swimming in a massive aquarium with our new fish friends.

4) Take a Water Taxi to Hvar

The only way to get to Hvar is by boat, and many private taxis operate to get you from your boat to the island. €100 for a five-minute round-trip ride from Pakleni islands makes for a convenient, although expensive, commute.

Hvar is our favorite island in Croatia. It is a place where natural beauty and historic charm come together effortlessly. The cove, with its clear blue waters, is framed by pine-covered hills and dotted with yachts that glide in and out of the harbor. Along the waterfront promenade, cafés and restaurants buzz with life, offering front-row views of the sea while the scent of wild lavender permeates the air. The town’s architecture, a blend of Venetian elegance and Dalmatian stonework, lines narrow alleys that twist through the old town, leading to quiet courtyards and hidden stairways. Every step through Hvar is a brush with charm, inviting you to lose yourself in its Mediterranean magic.

You’ll want to cool down with another delightful cup of gelato from aRoma. This time, opt for the banana crunch. They really do have the best flavors to choose from.

For an epic view of Hvar‘s town and the surrounding Pakleni islands, make the trek to Fortica, the city’s fort built in the 13th century. The steep three-hundred-foot elevation takes about twelve minutes to climb, and you’ll be well rewarded with a stunning panoramic view.

Our captain recommended Lola Bar & Street Food based on positive feedback from previous guests. The reviews were outstanding, and the website promised a fun, trendy atmosphere, so we decided to give it a try. The cocktails were excellent, but aside from stopping in for a drink, I sadly wouldn’t recommend dining here. We had our one and only disappointing meal in Croatia here. Overall, the food scene is fantastic in this part of the world.

The sunset in Hvar is truly mesmerizing. As the sun dips, the entire town seems to blush, bathed in warm hues that make every moment feel dreamlike.

There are no words to fully capture the experience of waking up to fluffy pancakes topped with juicy island fruit and a cup of freshly brewed coffee, all while floating in the heart of the crystal-clear Adriatic Sea.

We spent hours snorkeling off the coast of Pakleni. The water temperature is ideally inviting, so clear you can see down to the sea floor, and you’ll be surrounded by schools of fish asking you to stay and play. There’s nothing like diving from your breakfast table straight into the ocean.

3) Sail to Next Destination

Uvala Maslinica is an untouched cove that will offer you an indescribable state of bliss. With no one else in sight, we found ourselves alone on a secluded stretch of golden sand, embraced by the bluest, most inviting waters imaginable. It felt like stepping into a dream, a place where the world slipped away and only we existed. We floated together in the crystal-clear sea for nearly two hours, reluctant to leave what felt like our own private slice of Paradise.

The promise of lunch will gently lure you from the water each day, where a beautiful spread of fresh, vibrant ingredients awaits. Today, we were spoiled with a warm, homemade naan topped with hummus and grilled vegetables, served alongside fluffy couscous and a refreshing Greek salad. It was the kind of meal that tastes even better under the sun, with salt still on your skin and the sea just steps away.

5) Stay at a Hotel, Sort Of

Our boat was one of just three docked at Valamar Amicor, a stunning full-service resort nestled in Stari Grad. We enjoyed full access to the property’s exceptional amenities, including a waterfront beach club, inviting restaurants, and lively evening entertainment. From afternoon swims to sunset music, every detail of the resort felt thoughtfully curated, and we certainly made the most of it all. There’s something undeniably special about stepping off your boat and straight onto a secluded luxury resort, especially one just a scenic twenty-minute walk from town. We spent the day enjoying everything it had to offer, then wandered back aboard, lulled to sleep by the gentle rhythm of the sea.

6) Fall in Love With Stari Grad

Stari Grad is a magical place where time slows down and charm thrives. Its endless stone alleyways, rich with history and personality, wind through a UNESCO-protected landscape that feels untouched by the outside world. Unlike the more crowded spots along the coast, this ancient town remains blissfully free of tourists, offering a quiet, soulful beauty that’s impossible to forget. We took a ten-minute water taxi to town from our boat and then walked the twenty-minute scenic promenade back. The marina in town is very packed, and there are no swimming areas. Docking at the nearby resort is worth the tiny commute to this adorable village. Take your time getting lost in the labyrinth of alleys, stop to admire the historic sites like the Tvrdalj Castle and the Church of St. Stephen, find the hidden vineyards, walk the Riva (promenade), and savor all of the town’s simple beauty.

7) Dinner in a Croatian Courtyard

La Gitana is a cozy and intimate restaurant nestled in a charming courtyard on Škor Square. Its warm ambiance creates the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The menu is thoughtfully curated with fresh, local ingredients, offering dishes like truffle pasta and daily caught seabass that showcase skillful, elegant cooking.

Sunsets have always been bittersweet; overflowing with breathtaking magic, yet quietly reminding us that another day is drawing to a close, time is slipping away, and a cherished vacation is coming to an end. Stari Grad’s sunsets are among the most beautiful because they paint the sky with a stunning palette of warm hues that reflect off the calm Adriatic waters, creating a serene and almost otherworldly glow. As the sun dips behind ancient stone buildings and rolling hills, the whole town seems to pause.

On today’s menu, we were served shakshuka, warm bread, a fruit platter, and yogurt with lots of delicious toppings. We are so going to miss waking up every morning to vast ocean views and yummy meals prepared for us.

Being out at sea feels like stepping into a vibrant dance with wildlife. On this journey, we were lucky enough to spot playful wild dolphins, and each morning, schools of curious fish would swim right up to greet us by the boat. It’s an enchanting feeling – like we’re the big fish in this vast, sparkling aquarium called Earth.

We dropped the dinghy to explore Island Brac in Spacinza Bay covering more grounds than our usual paddle boards with an added thrill of learning to maneuver the boat and its somewhat difficult engine. Every day at sea brings a new adventure.

Emma treated us to a delicious Niçoise salad, crafted with the freshest ingredients Croatia has to offer. Alongside it, she served warm, fluffy focaccia, perfect for dipping into rich, local olive oil. We’ll deeply miss these thoughtfully prepared afternoon delights.

We dropped anchor in the dreamy Milna Bay, where calm, blue waters met the open, endless sea. The afternoon turned into a highlight reel: fun dinghy rides that had us bouncing over the waves, the surprise discovery of a nude beach, and epic jumping competitions off the boat. Sun-soaked, salty, and laughing nonstop- these are the moments that define summer.

4) Harbor in a Hidden Corner

Tiny Bobovišća feels like a secret whispered by the sea with just three charming restaurants, quiet stone paths, and endless views that beg you to slow down. The town may feel a bit random at first, but within hours, its quiet charm wears on you, slowly capturing your heart as the beauty of Croatia settles into your soul. A dip in the sea here is mandatory, followed by slow sipping of mojitos under an olive tree.

On the final night of your catamaran charter, your hostess will go above and beyond, preparing a special dinner in addition to the usual breakfast and lunch, a perfect way to toast six unforgettable nights at sea. For our farewell evening, Emma treated us to a delicious three-course meal: olive tapenade crostini, pillowy gnocchi in a rich blue cheese sauce, and vanilla ice cream topped with homemade churro chips. There’s something magical about savoring a thoughtfully prepared dinner on deck, then stepping straight off the boat for a golden-hour stroll through town.

6) Strolling through the Sunset & Sea

Walking along the coast of Bobovišća takes about an hour- a journey impossible to enjoy in the midday heat but utterly magical as the sun begins to set. When the temperatures cool, a stroll by the water reveals breathtaking beauty: the stillness of the sea mirrored by the vibrant colors painted across the sky creates a scene straight out of a postcard.

1) Breakfast with a Breeze

For this last breakfast aboard the boat, there’s a bittersweet feeling knowing your sea journey is coming to an end. Thankfully, Emma brightened the morning and the mood with a delicious vegetable frittata that made the looming goodbye a little easier to swallow.

2) One Last Stare into the Sea

Sailing the Adriatic Sea in Croatia offers a peaceful rhythm with calm, clear waters beneath you and a coastline dotted with quiet villages and rolling green hills. It’s easy to spend hours just taking it all in, letting the beauty of the landscape slowly unfold around you.

3) One Last Swim in the Sea

On our way to the marina in Trogir we made one last stop at Okrug Gornji island for a final dip in the Adriatic’s warm embrace. Gosh we will miss exploring secluded islands, paddleboarding with no one in site, and swimming for endless hours in remote sections of the sea.

4) One Last Lunch by the Sea

Pasta salad, stuffed red bell peppers, and caprese salad wrapped up our epic week as sea. This last lunch prepared by our hostess left us wanting more. More sea, more sun, and more glorious days of summer vacation.

5) Recap of One Week Sailing at Sea

Spending a week sailing on a catamaran in solitude is a soul-soothing experience like no other. Each day begins with the gentle rocking of the sea and the soft light of morning spilling through your cabin window, revealing the endless stretch of ocean. After a peaceful night’s sleep cradled by the waves, you’re greeted with a delicious breakfast prepared by your hostess, setting the tone for a day of quiet indulgence. Our boat dropped us off in Trogir, where we had a driver waiting for us to transport us to Dubrovnik, three hours away.

Pre-dinner gelato is a must, and this time we chose Mostro, a spot that proudly brands itself as couture gelato. With exquisite, inventive flavors, choosing just one is nearly impossible but sampling helps narrow it down. The Chocolate Dubai, a rich blend of dark chocolate, pistachio, and knafeh crumbs, is nothing short of outstanding.

Dining at Nautika is more than just a meal – it’s an experience that blends world-class cuisine with one of the most iconic views in Dubrovnik. Perched just outside the city walls with a front-row seat to the sea and Fort Lovrijenac the setting alone is unforgettable. But the food more than matches the backdrop: refined, seasonal, and deeply rooted in Croatian tradition, elevated with modern technique. The Pretty Woman cocktail, a delicate blend of vodka and lavender syrup, arrives in style, served on a gleaming silver platter with a meringue accompaniment that adds both flair and sweetness. The truffle tortellini is unforgettable, rich and indulgent, with generous shavings of fresh truffle added tableside for an aromatic finish. The sea bass is a standout as well – expertly cooked with a crisp skin and tender, flaky interior that showcases the kitchen’s precision and respect for quality ingredients. Every detail, from the candlelit terrace to the final course, reflects Nautika’s commitment to excellence. It’s a splurge, yes, but one that delivers on every level. For a truly memorable night in Dubrovnik, Nautika is simply unbeatable.

The views from the rooms and the hotel’s terrace are simply breathtaking. Wake up to a frothy cappuccino, savoring each sip as you breathe in the salty sea air and take in the stunning landscape. Enjoy one last Croatian breakfast with the hotel’s bountiful buffet and a la carte menu. The baked beans and soft boiled eggs were a great send off.

All good things must come to an end, sadly. The last eight days in Croatia were pure perfection from start to finish, making it incredibly hard to say goodbye to this remarkable country, home to warm, hospitable people, consistently delicious meals, spectacular sunsets, and the vast, inviting Adriatic Sea.

Large yachts can’t always dock in the harbour, and for gourmet excursions ashore in Monaco, Mykonos or Miami Beach, there are elegant tenders. The Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 takes inspiration from this idea – a luxury runabout for brief forays into real life.

Maybach is known for opulent limousines with long wheelbases, privacy curtains, and chauffeur-driven elegance. But things are different with the Maybach SL 680, the most exclusive way to experience an SL. Chauffeur or not, yacht or otherwise, sometimes you just want to grab the wheel yourself and let the wind tousle your hair under the sun, gazing at the sea or mountains. Until now, owners of luxury cars might have reached for their Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabrio, an Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, or a Bentley Continental GTC. The standard Mercedes SL, perhaps too commonplace or overtly sporty thanks to AMG development, never quite fit the brief. So when the call came for serious motoring, the Maybach name returned, but only for the back seat.

Now, the Maybach SL 680 offers a luxury plaything for the world’s elite, an elegant “tender” for sunlit drives. Distinct from even the lavish AMG-enhanced SL, it raises the bar with an extravagant luxury package, pushing the base price to at least €225,850. The Monogram edition is unmistakably part of the Maybach family at first glance, with a bonnet covered in MM logos reminiscent of Louis Vuitton, even extending to the fabric roof. It’s anything but subtle.

Maybach logos fill the front air intakes, while MM details grace the sides and rear. Inside, exquisite materials and sumptuous seats transport passengers mentally to the Côte d’Azur or Miami Beach. Wherever it goes, the Maybach SL commands attention, especially when finished in Opalite White with that monogrammed contrast bonnet.

Morning sun glints off Lake Como as the breeze whips past, and from under the bonnet comes little more than a low, luxurious murmur, until you open it up. Then it roars to life, delivering a powerful and intoxicating drive. One thing is missing, however – a V12. Beneath the custom bodywork lies the same four-litre V8 twin-turbo you’ll recognise from AMG, producing 430 kW / 585 PS and 800 Nm of torque.

It’s a powerhouse in any setting, even if the Maybach badge deserves a dozen cylinders. 0–100 km/h takes just 4.1 seconds, and top speed is capped at 260 km/h, a deliberate move to set it apart from the standard AMG SL.

Still, for a roadster of this luxury, we can’t help but dream of a flagship V12 , an engine still available elsewhere in Mercedes’ lineup and one that would be the ideal fit for this ultra-exclusive toy. Why the same 585 PS tune as lesser AMG versions was used remains Affalterbach’s secret – but let’s be honest: Maybach SL drivers have more important things to focus on. Like their surroundings. Or their villa. Or their yacht.

There’s no luggage onboard, not because of the modest 240-litre boot or the 13.6 l/100 km fuel consumption, but because the maximum payload is just 145 kilograms. Enough, perhaps, for a slim companion and a lighter picnic basket.
