Next-gen Porsche hypercar to be confirmed this year

It’s been almost a year since Porsche showcased the Mission X concept, previewing the brand’s next-gen hypercar. According to a recent report, the replacement for the 918 Spyder is likely to be confirmed this year.

Porsche CEO Oliver Blume has stated that the brand plans to make a decision on the all-electric hypercar within months. “The idea is to make the decision this year,” he added.

Speaking about the ‘Mission X’, Blume said, “With the concept we have shown the technology we want to put in the car, the performance profile, and the feedback we got at our 75-year celebration was massively positive, so it’s a great motivation for us to do the car.”

Measuring 4.5 meters in length, the Porsche Mission X concept is about the same size as the Carrera GT and the 918 Spyder. It is based on a 900 V electric architecture with a quad-motor setup and is expected to have a power-to-weight ratio of 1 PS per kg.
