When it comes to fine watchmaking, it might seem gauche to call any watch in particular “lavish” but that would be a fair one-word description of the Montblanc Star Legacy Suspended Exo Tourbillon Château de Versailles Limited Edition. In addition to a veritable essay of a name, the watch communicates how special it is in nothing less than operatic tones just by looks alone. Just look at it and you might swear you hear Lully. We will return to that reference shortly but, even in such a spectacle of a watch, there is nothing difficult to sum in a few words. This is a time-only watch with a very specific interpretation of the tourbillon – patented by the Montblanc manufacture at Villeret – that features various traditional decorative arts.
With the unadorned facts out of the way, we can launch into the promised Lully arias. The Montblanc Star Legacy Suspended Exo Tourbillon Château de Versailles Limited Edition, which we will call the Exo Tourbillon Versailles for short, is a lavish ode to 18th-century French court life. As mentioned, it is a masterpiece that looks its part down to the micron.
Limited to just eight pieces, this Métiers d’Art marvel celebrates “Le Bal des Ifs” (The Yew Tree Ball)—the most legendary masked ball of 1745 that you never heard of hosted by King Louis XV at the Palace of Versailles. It was at this event, held in the glittering Hall of Mirrors (itself a feat of remarkable artistry), that the king, disguised as a yew tree (no joke), is said to have secretly courted the woman who would become the Marquise de Pompadour. This event has everything to do with the looks of the watch and its stupendous name.
The watch’s dial masterfully reinterprets the Hall of Mirrors on that night, drawing inspiration from a 1746 etching by Charles-Nicolas Cochin I. The dial base is crafted from white gold, coated in black enamel and sprinkled with gold paillons that evoke the shimmer of candlelight that would have been reflected in the hall’s 357 mirrors.
Architectural details are recreated in meticulous marquetry, with archways fashioned from Cacholong opal and Sarrancolin marble — the same type of marble sourced for the 17th-century palace itself. An inlay of solid oak replicates the iconic parquet floor. Layered above this is an etched sapphire crystal disc depicting the ballroom’s grand chandeliers and the mysterious, costumed dancers, including the aforementioned yew trees on the left side of the dial.
At 12 o’clock, a subdial for the hours and minutes recalls the Baroque clocks of Louis XIV’s era. A backdrop of white champlevé enamel is framed by a laser-machined 3N gold ring inspired by Versailles’ brass décor. At its centre sits a micro-sculpted brass Apollo head — the emblem of the Sun King — created from a 3D scan of a motif on a door in the palace’s Salon de Vénus.
The entire scene is anchored by the proprietary Suspended Exo Tourbillon. First launched in 2010, its unique architecture separates the large screw balance from the tourbillon cage, positioning it 3.2 mm above the dial where it appears to hover in space. The Exo Tourbillon’s cage makes one revolution per minute, serving as a running seconds display. The large 14.5mm balance wheel, fitted with 18 screws, oscillates at a traditional 18,000 vibrations per hour and is held aloft by a single, gracefully curved bridge of hand-engraved, gold-coated stainless steel.
The yellow gold case is a work of art in itself, as it should be, given the nature of the Exo Tourbillon Versailles. The bezel is hand-engraved with a laurel wreath, a symbol of Apollo, while the caseband features an intricate engraving of a painting by François Lemoyne. This scene, from the Salon de la Paix at Versailles, depicts Louis XV as a peacemaker, flanked by the Roman deities Minerva and Mercury.
Powering the timepiece is the manual-winding calibre MB M16.68, composed of 218 components and offering a 50-hour power reserve. The sapphire caseback reveals the masterful hand-finishing for which the Villeret artisans are renowned, including Côtes de Genève, circular graining and sharp interior anglage.
Completing the presentation, the watch is housed in a luxurious musical box crafted by Parisian table-maker Elie Bleu. Featuring a mechanism by Swiss specialist Reuge, the box plays a melody by Jean-Philippe Rameau that was presented at the 1745 royal wedding, all while the watch rotates as if dancing at the ball.

The Riva story began in 1842 on the shores of Lake Iseo, where a devastating storm left the local fishing community in ruins. Pietro Riva, a skilled shipwright, took it upon himself to repair their boats. His work not only restored what was lost but set the foundation for a family enterprise that would one day become one of Italy’s most recognisable names in boating.
Through successive generations, Riva evolved from a small local yard into a name associated with technical mastery and design refinement. Pietro’s son Ernesto introduced internal combustion engines to Riva’s boats, a decision that shifted the shipyard from utility to leisure and marked the beginning of a new era.
By the 1930s, under Serafino Riva, the company began producing high-performance motorboats that combined speed with elegance. Riva boats became known across Europe for their clean lines and agile handling, winning titles in competitions and attracting a new class of clientele. It was also during this time that Carlo Riva was born, the man who would eventually define the modern era of Riva and shape its international image.
When Carlo Riva took over in the 1950s, he transformed the family shipyard into a global reference point for style on water. The period coincided with Italy’s Dolce Vita years, when glamour and leisure were part of a national identity and Riva motorboats became its most visible expression.
Crafted from mahogany and polished to a mirror-like sheen, boats such as the Ariston, Tritone and the legendary Aquarama were designed with an eye for proportion and an instinct for drama. The Aquarama, introduced in 1962, became the ultimate embodiment of that vision — sleek, powerful and unmistakably Italian. With fewer than 800 built, it remains one of the most admired boats ever made.
Riva Today: A Cultural Symbol
The Aquarama soon became a fixture of cinematic coastlines, appearing alongside film stars, royals and jet-set figures. Owners ranged from Brigitte Bardot to Sophia Loren and Prince Rainier of Monaco, each drawn to its understated glamour and distinctive silhouette. Even today, collectors regard the Aquarama as more than a boat — it is a piece of history that captures the optimism and spirit of post-war Italy.
While the materials and technology have evolved, the essence of Riva remains unchanged. The Aquariva, introduced in 2000, carries forward the same profile and detailing that made the original models legendary. Contemporary yachts continue to honour the brand’s lineage through balance, proportion and a quiet sense of sophistication that never feels overstated.
Partnerships in Power
Over the decades, Riva’s name has occasionally met others that share its Italian heritage. In the 1960s, Ferruccio Lamborghini commissioned a bespoke Aquarama fitted with twin V12 engines, merging two icons of performance. In 2016, Riva became a sponsor of Ferrari’s Formula 1 team, a partnership that brought its distinctive aquamarine logo back into the realm of speed and competition.
From its modest beginnings on Lake Iseo to its present-day prestige, Riva has remained true to its origins — boats built not for excess, but for a way of life that values grace, balance and beauty. More than 180 years on, the name endures as a testament to Italy’s ability to turn even the practical into the timeless.

Lucky for you, this travel editor with four years of covering Amazon sales knows the ins and outs of October Prime Day and where to find elite savings—and steer you away from the gimmicky items that aren’t worth the suitcase space. Below, I’ve narrowed down the best Amazon October Prime Day deals from Samsonite, Apple, and more that are not only sporting major price cuts (up to 88 percent off) but have also earned high praise from fellow travelers, a combination that will be your ticket to smoother flights, comfier hotel stays, and stress-free adventures.
Best Overall Deals
Clothing and Shoe Deals
Glamaker 2-piece Matching Set
Amazon
Whenever a Prime Day rolls around, I always stop at the clothing deals first because that’s often where the biggest savings are hiding. This year, I have my eye set on the discounted Glamaker 2-piece Matching Set, which will make the perfect airplane outfit for my long flights back and forth from Los Angeles to New York to visit family. I also love that both pieces can be worn together or separately, doubling my suitcase options without needing to pack extra items.
Naturalizer Neela Lace-up Sneakers
Amazon
Amazon Prime Day is also an ample opportunity to upgrade your footwear, especially if you’ve been suffering through recent trips in uncomfortable and unsupportive shoes. When friends and family ask me which travel shoes to buy, I always point them in the direction of a brand with inclusive sizing and podiatrist-approved styles—like Naturalizer. These leather lace-up sneakers have arch-supporting memory foam insoles and flexible outsoles for all-around comfort on long travel days.
Iuga High-waisted Trouser Pants
Amazon
I’ve finally found the comfiest travel pants, and I’m so happy to share that they’re on sale for October Prime Day. Iuga’s High-waisted Trousers have the polished look of dress pants with the comfort of sweatpants. Everyone thinks you dressed up for your flight, when in reality, you’re wearing bottoms with a faux button and zipper, and all the stretchiness and softness of your favorite pajamas. Genius.
Odoly Suede Clogs
Amazon
If you’re like me and love the convenience of slip-on shoes, a cozy pair of suede clogs should be on your radar. Acting as fall’s closed-toe alternative to sandals, they will keep your feet warm and secure without the need for complicated laces or straps (a huge plus for long flights, road trips, and more). This double-discounted pair has supportive features like contoured footbeds, deep heel cups, and wide toe boxes, plus grippy soles for comfortable, sneaker-like strides.
Xiaoxuemeng Quilted Puffer Jacket
Amazon
Since October Prime Day is Amazon’s first major sale of the fall, I’d recommend using the deals to save on pricey cold-weather essentials like jackets and coats. Me? I’ll be grabbing this quilted puffer while it’s on sale, so my fall and winter travel wardrobe is set. I love that it’s packable and lightweight enough for any destination (you can layer tops and sweaters as needed to match the forecast), but still oversized for extra comfort.
Amazon’s Prime Day luggage deals are always top-notch, especially when it comes to brand-name pieces. One luggage deal that impressed me is this 14 percent off, top-rated Samsonite Freeform Hardside 20-inch Carry-on, which is Travel + Leisure editor-approved and rarely discounted. It won our pick for best overall carry-on thanks to its impressive capacity and durability (our testing team even hit it with a metal bat and it didn’t show signs of damage).
Taygeer Carry-on Travel Backpack
Amazon
I’m going to a destination wedding in Italy next spring, and my carry-on game needs a major refresh before then. To save myself from dragging a wheeled suitcase around the various towns we’ll be visiting, I’m going to trade my rollaboard for this spacious, best-selling carry-on backpack that has “no problem” fitting a “week’s worth of clothes,” according to shoppers. I’ve been waiting for it to go on sale, and right now, it’s less than $20 for October Prime Day.
Bagsmart Duffel Bag
Amazon
Since the above Tayger Carry-on Backpack will be my main luggage, I’ll need an equally roomy personal item to replace my go-to laptop backpack. This duffel bag fits perfectly under airplane seats and has a spacious main compartment to fit extra clothes and shoes, plus convenient stash pockets and pouches for my passport, wallet, and in-flight essentials like my headphones and portable charger. I love that it comes with a crossbody strap for easy carrying (which will come in handy if I need to go hands-free).
Travel Accessories and Tech
Apple AirTag 4-pack
Amazon
I’ve heard so many horror stories about missing checked bags, lost passports, and so on from my travel-loving friends and colleagues, so I’m making sure to stock up on Apple AirTags before my next trip. These Bluetooth trackers keep an extra eye on your valuables and can be easily slipped into suitcase pockets, backpacks, purses, wallets, and more so you can easily see where they are when you’re on the go. Nothing ruins a trip faster than your suitcase not showing up at baggage claim, right?
Lenuto MagSafe Magnetic Portable Charger
Amazon
Amazon’s always up to date with the latest travel accessories, which is why I love to browse its travel accessory offerings for new gadgets. This October Prime Day, I’ll be picking up this magnetic portable charger while it’s up to 88 percent off. What sets it apart from other power banks is its powerful battery and built-in stand, which allows you to mount your phone or tablet onto it (which is ideal for streaming shows and movies on long flights, train rides, road trips, and more).
Tozo NC9 In-ear Noise-canceling Headphones
Amazon
If you’re like me and have been let down by so many earbuds in the past, this Amazon Prime Day deal is for you. Thousands of shoppers have been won over by these Tozo noise-canceling earbuds and their AirPod-level sound quality (some even say they sound better than Apple AirPods) and affordable price tag, which was just slashed down to $30 for Prime Big Deal Days.
Napfun Travel Neck Pillow
Amazon
Travelers with long-haul flights on the horizon need to hop on this impressive deal. Over 12,000 shoppers have given this under-$20 neck pillow a five-star rating, with reviewers calling it a “game-changer” and “neck saver.” One shopper wrote that it’s “super soft, perfectly supportive, and molds just right around my neck,” adding that it keeps my neck comfortable and pain-free.
Twelve South AirFly SE Bluetooth Wireless Audio Transmitter Adapter
Amazon
You would think that, as an adult, I’d have no problem keeping myself entertained on a flight. But on my most recent flight, the unthinkable happened: the flight attendants never passed out the old-school headphones for the seatback TV. Between my in-flight naps and stubborn seatmates (I was in the window seat), the opportunity never arose to go ask for a set, so I couldn’t watch any shows or movies. Next time, I’ll have the Twelve South AirFly SE ready to go. It pairs your wireless headphones to the seatback TV, so you don’t need to rely on the airline-provided wired headphones. It’s also good to have if you’re traveling with a buddy, since you can use it to connect two headphones to the same TV.
Epicka Universal Travel Adapter
Amazon
When I travel with my family, I need to be extra prepared since they’re not big jet-setters and often forget essential accessories—like adapters. Instead of having to pack an extra adapter for my parents and siblings, I just need to throw the Epicka Universal Adapter in my bag. It can charge multiple devices (no more fighting over free outlets) at once and has the necessary outlets needed for the U.K. and Europe built in.
Packing Essentials
Bpluma Leakproof Travel Bottles
Amazon
I used to always stock up on travel-sized bottles of my favorite shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and other shower and hair toiletries, but I recently realized that all the different-sized tubes and jars were taking up way too much room in my toiletry bag. Now, I only use uniform, reusable toiletry bottles to save suitcase space and money (those single-use shampoos and conditioners go fast). Thinking of doing the same? Snag these sleek, compact, and leakproof travel bottles while they’re just $9.
Bagail Packing Cubes Set
Amazon
What does every traveler need? If it were up to me, it would be a solid set of packing cubes. In addition to helping you save luggage space, these nifty cubes keep your clothing, shoes, and accessories organized so you’re not digging through your suitcase to find your favorite pair of pants or that one top you decided to change into at the last minute. When it comes to finding the right packing cube set, I always point friends and family to the Bagail Packing Cubes, currently on sale, which are extremely durable and can practically double how much you can fit in your bag.
Halfday Sidekick Tech Organizer Kit
Amazon
I invite you to take this time to take a closer look inside your go-to backpack or tote bag. What do you see? If it’s filled with tangled wires, cords, and random accessories and attachments for various devices, then I can’t recommend this tech organizer kit more. Halfday’s top-rated travel gear hardly ever goes on sale, so you don’t want to miss this chance to upgrade your travel game at a discount. Plus, this tech organizer has a really cool bumper feature that you can balance your phone against like a mount.
When golfers dream of paradise, they often think of Scotland’s links, Portugal’s coast, or Thailand’s tropics. But few imagine a place where giraffes roam beside fairways, drives soar against snow-capped peaks, and post-round drinks are enjoyed while elephants graze nearby.

Nairobi: The Gateway to Kenyan Golf
The vibrant capital of Nairobi serves as the gateway to Kenya golf holidays. This cosmopolitan city blends urban energy with lush greenery, featuring leafy suburbs and tree-shaded boulevards that lead to some of Africa’s finest fairways. For an added thrill, Nairobi is home to the unique Nairobi National Park — the world’s only national park within a major city.
Just a short drive from your hotel, you can spot lions, rhinos, and zebras roaming freely, offering a quick urban safari to complement your golf itinerary.
Kenya Golf Holidays: Where Championship Greens Meet Safari Adventures
Karen Country Club
As the host of the DP World Tour’s Kenya Open, Karen Country Club is as beautiful as it is challenging. Built on the former coffee farm of Danish writer Karen Blixen (famous for “Out of Africa”), the course exudes history, elegance, and athletic rigor. Well-manicured fairways are framed by mature trees and bursts of colorful bougainvillea.
The greens are true and responsive, with water hazards and undulating terrain testing even low handicappers. Between holes, listen for the haunting call of an African fish eagle echoing from nearby wetlands — a reminder that nature is always close at hand.

Windsor Golf & Country Club
If heritage defines Karen, grandeur is Windsor’s hallmark. Nestled within a 200-acre estate of coffee plantations and indigenous forest, the course feels like a cinematic escape. Expect rolling par-5s for powerful drives, precision-demanding short par-4s, and greens bordered by shimmering water features.
At dawn, a gentle mist hugs the fairways, with the only sounds being birdsong and the satisfying crack of your tee shot. The clubhouse, resembling a grand castle, offers balconies overlooking the 18th green — ideal for post-round drinks and sunset views.

Great Rift Valley: Golf at Altitude
Descending from Nairobi into the Great Rift Valley is like entering a geologic masterpiece, with sleeping volcanoes, acacia-dotted plains, and vast freshwater lakes setting the stage. This region adds a theatrical flair to your game, and it’s perfectly positioned near some of Kenya’s premier wildlife spots, like Lake Nakuru National Park and Lake Naivasha.
At Lake Nakuru, famous for its massive flocks of pink flamingos and thriving rhino population, you can enjoy boat safaris or game drives spotting leopards and buffalo. Nearby Lake Naivasha offers serene boat rides amid hippos and over 400 bird species, with opportunities for guided walks or cycling safaris. These reserves provide a refreshing interlude between rounds, blending high-altitude golf with intimate wildlife encounters.
Kenya Golf Holidays: Where Championship Greens Meet Safari Adventures
Great Rift Valley Golf Club, perched at 7,000 feet above sea level, delivers that extra carry to your drives thanks to the thin air — a boon on wind-swept par-5s along the lakeshore. The crisp atmosphere, golden sunlight, and panoramic views from elevated tees invite you to pause, breathe deeply, and soak in the unspoiled beauty. It’s golf that feels elevated in every sense.

The Wild Interlude: Safaris in Kenya’s Iconic National Parks and Reserves
One of Kenya’s greatest appeals for golf holidays is the effortless fusion of fairways and wilderness. You don’t have to choose between golf and safari — you can immerse yourself in both, creating memories that extend far beyond the scorecard.
Start with the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve, often a highlight of any itinerary. This vast savannah is world-renowned for the Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras thunder across the plains from July to October.
Early morning game drives bring you face-to-face with the Big Five (lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo), while hot-air balloon rides offer aerial views of the drama below. Luxury tented camps provide campfire evenings under starlit skies, where you can swap golf tales as hyenas call in the distance.
Kenya Golf Holidays: Where Championship Greens Meet Safari Adventures
For a different flavor, head to Amboseli National Park in the shadow of Mount Kilimanjaro. Here, massive elephant herds roam dusty plains against the backdrop of Africa’s highest peak, creating postcard-perfect scenes. The park’s swamps and observation hills are ideal for spotting cheetahs and over 400 bird species. It’s easily accessible from Nairobi or the Rift Valley, making it a seamless add-on to your golf schedule.
Don’t miss Tsavo National Park, divided into East and West sections, which together form one of Africa’s largest wildlife sanctuaries. Tsavo East’s red-dust elephants and maneless lions offer a rugged, less-crowded safari experience, with highlights like the Yatta Plateau — the world’s longest lava flow.
Tsavo West adds volcanic landscapes, crystal-clear Mzima Springs (home to hippos and crocodiles), and the dramatic Shetani Lava Flows. These parks are conveniently located en route to the coast, allowing for multi-day safaris with game drives, bush walks, and even night safaris.
Kenya Golf Holidays: Where Championship Greens Meet Safari Adventures
Further north, Samburu National Reserve introduces the “Samburu Special Five” — unique species like the reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and beisa oryx — not commonly seen elsewhere. The Ewaso Ng’iro River draws diverse wildlife, and cultural visits to Samburu villages add depth. For a more exclusive feel, explore conservancies like Ol Pejeta, a leader in rhino conservation with chimpanzee sanctuaries and horseback safaris.
Kenya’s national parks and reserves cater to all preferences, from high-end lodges with spa facilities to eco-friendly camps. Whether it’s a short game drive or a full safari extension, these experiences recharge you for the next round, leaving lasting impressions long after you return home.
The Coast: Ocean Breezes, World-Class Greens, and Endless Adventures
A short flight from the savannah brings you to Kenya’s enchanting coast — a paradise of powdery white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and swaying palms. This stretch along the Indian Ocean isn’t just about golf; it’s a hub for marine adventures, cultural explorations, and laid-back luxury, making it the perfect finale to your trip.
In Mombasa, the coastal epicenter, Nyali Golf & Country Club captures colonial charm with fairways lined by casuarina and palm trees. The warm ocean breeze influences every shot, adding strategy to your game.
Post-round, stroll to Mombasa’s Old Town, where narrow streets reveal spice-scented markets, intricate Swahili architecture, and a melting pot of African, Arab, and Indian influences. Don’t miss Fort Jesus, a 16th-century Portuguese fortress turned museum, or Haller Park — a reclaimed quarry now teeming with giraffes, hippos, and giant tortoises.

Heading north, Vipingo Ridge stands out as East Africa’s only PGA-accredited course. Designed to championship standards, it boasts immaculate greens, sculpted bunkers, and breathtaking ocean vistas. The signature par-3 tee overlooks waves crashing on coral reefs below, creating a dramatic challenge. The resort’s infinity pools, fine dining, and luxury villas make it a haven for relaxation.

Beyond the greens, the coast explodes with activities. Diani Beach, south of Mombasa, is a tropical idyll with kite surfing, deep-sea fishing, and dolphin-spotting excursions to Wasini Island. Snorkel in Kisite-Mpunguti Marine Park, where vibrant coral gardens host sea turtles and colorful fish.
Tiwi Beach offers quieter sands for beachcombing, while nearby Shimoni Slave Caves provide a poignant historical tour.Further north, Watamu and Malindi blend adventure and serenity.
Kenya Golf Holidays: Where Championship Greens Meet Safari Adventures
Watamu National Marine Park is a snorkeling and diving mecca, with pristine reefs and the chance to swim alongside whale sharks (seasonally). Explore Mida Creek’s mangroves by canoe for birdwatching, or hike through Arabuko Sokoke Forest — Africa’s largest coastal forest, home to rare butterflies and endemic birds.
In Malindi, visit the ancient Gede Ruins, a mysterious Swahili settlement overgrown with baobabs, or enjoy windsurfing on golden beaches. Dhow cruises at sunset, complete with fresh seafood feasts, capture the coast’s romantic essence.
From bustling Mombasa to serene Watamu, Kenya’s coast offers endless ways to unwind: yoga on the beach, spa treatments with ocean views, or vibrant nightlife in beachside bars. It’s the ultimate reward after days of golf and safaris.
Kenya: The Next Golf Bucket-List Destination
Kenya isn’t just another golf destination — it’s a full-sensory journey. Play championship courses, explore legendary safaris, and unwind by the ocean, all in one trip. It’s the rare combination of crisp highland mornings, wild savannah afternoons, and tropical coastal evenings that makes Kenya unforgettable.
For travelers seeking a golf holiday that blends luxury, adventure, and authenticity, Kenya golf holidays deliver it all — where every tee shot comes with a view and every day ends with a story.
Our story starts with a simple dream: to bring together two of Kenya’s most amazing treasures – world-class golf and breathtaking natural beauty. Entering the foyer of Devialet’s largest flagship store in the Asia Pacific region, located at the Grand Hyatt Singapore, I am greeted by Jean-Loup Afresne, Devialet’s chief product and technical officer. We make our way towards the store’s immersive Listening Room, where the interview takes place opposite the Devialet Phantom Ultimate — the successor to the original Phantom first introduced a decade ago. This latest iteration is described as French acoustic engineering at its finest, delivering pure, high-resolution sound through a radically striking singular silhouette.
Before beginning the conversation, I take note of Afresne — dressed in a casual navy shirt beneath a blue blazer and washed denim jeans. Calm and unassuming, he is every bit the image of an engineer whose work quietly speaks volumes. Seated to his right is Martin Ku, Devialet’s regional director, who joins the conversation to give his input on Devialet’s marketing and business-related strategies. Dressed in sharply tailored suit and pocket square he embodies the corporate polish that complements Afresne’s understated technical poise. Together, they reflect the dual essence of Devialet itself — an understanding of design and presentation.
While Devialet’s legacy rests on pioneering design and boundary-pushing acoustics, its reinvention of the Phantom Ultimate proves that masterpieces endure only when innovation is treated as a constant, not a destination. With over 250 patents, Devialet’s vision of sound as a cultural and lifestyle investment has redefined how technology integrates seamlessly into luxury interiors. From its decade-long evolution to its integration with modern smart home technology, Phantom Ultimate is as much about emotional connection to music as it is about technical perfection. In this exclusive interview, LUXUO explores how Jean-Loup Afresne’s quiet mastery of sound engineering anchors Devialet’s continual evolution in the world of luxury audio.
Design trends shift quickly — how do you approach creating products for Devialet that feel timeless rather than temporary?
Jean-Loup Afresne (JLA): Yes, so this is actually one of our targets — to make a product that lasts. From the beginning, in our development process for new products, we focus on finding solutions that will last for a long time. This is not just a wish; it is a strategic mindset. We do not think about products as something to replace every two years — we aim to make fewer products and improve them over time. That is why we started with an amplifier, then Phantom speakers, then Devialet Mania. Endurance and product longevity are really a strategic decision for us.
You mentioned strategy and strategic decisions — can you expand on what kind of strategies you go through?
JLA: The foundation of our product design strategy is to make products fully optimised for what they do. For a single target, there is only one optimised solution. If we take time to find it, then the endurance target is met. For example, with the Phantom speaker, the main target was compactness — something very compact without compromising performance or design. By focusing on this target, we arrive at one solution, ensuring the product lasts, which is exactly what we did with Phantom.
You were the engineer behind the original Phantom. Now with the Phantom Ultimate, can you explain what evolutions customers can expect and how it has changed over the last decade?
JLA: From the outside, the design looks similar, but it has been refined with improved details. Inside, everything has changed — electronic, mechanical and acoustic components. With Phantom Ultimate, we kept the architecture and system design unique to Phantom but upgraded all components to improve performance.
You have been with Devialet since the early days, moving from engineer to chief product and technical officer. How has your personal and professional journey shaped how you lead Devialet today?
JLA: Devialet today is the same as in the beginning: bringing exceptional sound experiences to a wider audience. Exceptional sound can bring emotion and enhance people’s lives. That has always been our target.
When you mention emotion, what kind of emotion do you want the consumer to have?
JLA: We don’t dictate specific emotions. We want users to connect with the music and they will react in their own way. Our products are enablers between the artist and the listener.
Engineering and design often have conflicting demands. As Chief Product and Technical Officer, how do you navigate that tension?
JLA: Our target is not to make compromises. Usually, technical constraints and creative design targets conflict and the easy path is compromise. However, we challenge everything: why a design choice exists, is it really necessary, or just a habit or industry standard? By doing so, design and technology amplify each other rather than compete, which is why Phantom lasts so long.
Looking back at the original Phantom of 2015, what were the key lessons that inform your engineering process today?
JLA: The key learning was to never forgive shortcuts and to stay aligned with the target. For instance, compactness was critical. Even though an easier solution would have slightly increased the size, we pushed the design to meet our original target, which required managing more complexity but maintained our radical approach.
As Devialet launches globally, including Singapore, how do you adapt the brand’s positioning for local and regional markets?
Martin Ku (MK): Being a French brand is beneficial in Asia. We position ourselves as a luxury, audio, and lifestyle brand, which is unique. French heritage brings rigor in design and development. Combining brand image, product experience, and retail location creates a strong, unique positioning. Singapore, in particular, is our priority in APAC with two flagship stores. The market’s receptivity and fast decision-making help us expand rapidly.
Singapore is a hub for premium audio and luxury lifestyle brands. What role does this market play in Devialet’s global growth strategy?
MK: Singapore is the standard for Asia. Partners train and see stores here before expanding in their markets. It’s a benchmark location for launching new concepts and limited editions.
Audio products are evolving with connectivity and a seamless user experience. How does the Phantom Ultimate respond to these expectations?
JLA: The electronics have been improved, with a processor more than four times faster than the previous generation. Phantom Ultimate supports Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and smart home integration. Future updates will ensure compatibility with evolving smart home protocols.
Technology and luxury increasingly overlap. Do you see Devialet as a tech brand, luxury brand, or hybrid?
JLA: Technology is a means, not the target. Our products are positioned at the intersection of luxury, lifestyle, and audiophile performance. Technology enables usability, aesthetics, and extreme audio experience, without being showcased directly.
How does Devialet reach younger consumers while also appealing to traditional audiophiles?
JLA: We design timeless products rather than targeting a specific demographic. Music is universal, so our audience is wide. Partnerships, like with Fendi or Opera de Paris, allow reaching niche audiences while the base product appeals broadly. Custom finishes help adapt to different tastes without changing the product itself.
Devialet has collaborated with brands like Opera de Paris, Alpine and BYD. How do you approach these partnerships, and are there industries you want to explore next?
JLA: Most partnerships come to us because sound has become more important than ever. We can select which partners to work with, often bigger companies than ours. We are now in planes, automotive, TVs, etc. Future opportunities could be in architecture and interior design, integrating audio experiences from the start of a project.
With competitors like Bang & Olufsen and Sonos, what sets Devialet apart?
JLA: Devialet combines Hi-Fi-level audio quality with accessible, stylish, reasonably priced products. Competitors often focus on design or connectivity but don’t match extreme audio quality. Our product works both in lifestyle and high-performance audio spaces.
Sustainability is key in luxury. How does it factor into Phantom Ultimate’s design?
JLA: Material choice matters, but longevity is the main point. A green product is one that lasts. Many customers still use their first Phantom after 10 years, proving our approach.
What does success look like to you personally — recognition, adoption, or product impact?
JLA: Success is about the emotion we bring to people’s homes. For example, a customer wrote about how Phantom allowed him to enjoy music again with his family, which was the ultimate success.
There is a revival of 2000s analog-style music. How does Devialet contend with this trend?
JLA: It doesn’t compete; it complements. We recently held an event for vinyl listening. Phantom can faithfully reproduce analog sources — it’s an enabler, making listening pure and genuine.
As someone who created it, how do you personally enjoy the Phantom Ultimate?
JLA: I play music at home all the time — when waking up, cooking, or doing other tasks. Phantom’s goal is to provide excellent sound even during daily activities, not just when sitting down to listen carefully.

In fine jewellery, a signature motif can be worth more to a Maison than its weight in gold as it is these instantly recognisable forms that have come to define a brand’s legacy. Yet, as the boundaries between craftsmanship and wearability continue to evolve, these timeless icons are being reimagined to align with contemporary values of versatility and individuality of the wearer. The year 2025 signals a shift in this direction, as leading houses revisit their emblematic collections through both nostalgia and design refinement. Each reissue, be it through new materials, modular construction or adaptive form, reflects a brand’s commitment to preserving identity while embracing the future of how fine jewellery is worn and understood today.
Fred — Force 10 Rise
Launched almost six decades ago, FRED’s Force 10 line was born from founder Fred Samuel’s passion for sailing and has since become one of the Maison’s most recognisable signatures. Defined by the use of a braided cable and buckle, the collection quickly established itself as a symbol of strength and determination, bridging sport-inspired codes with fine jewellery craftsmanship. Over the years, it has been continually updated, but its identity has remained anchored in these nautical references.
For 2025, the house advances this narrative with Force 10 Rise, a reinterpretation that draws on the design vocabulary of one of its High Jewellery sets. While retaining the essential elements of the cable and buckle, the collection introduces a sharper graphic sensibility. The buckle now appears with diamond pavé, further emphasised by a linear row of diamonds, creating a more defined contrast between the organic curves of the cable and the rectilinear geometry of the setting. Offered in pink or white gold, the pieces present a more structured and luminous expression of the Force 10 identity.
The update extends across new formats, including a band ring that amplifies the graphic codes on the finger, a necklace designed to be worn alone or layered in graduated gold tones and earrings in both hoop and half-moon forms. An ear cuff expands the collection’s modular potential, allowing for greater personalisation and mix-and-match styling. These additions shift the collection beyond its traditional bracelet format, aligning it with current preferences for versatility and stackable design. By evolving the Force 10 into Force 10 Rise, FRED demonstrates the endurance of how a long-established design can be carried forward to the present without losing elements of its heritage.
Boucheron — A. Quatre Classique Tube
Boucheron’s Quatre began in 2004 as a study in contrast. The four archival motifs — Grosgrain, Double Godron, Clou de Paris and a line of diamonds — were combined into a single band that distilled the Maison’s varied references to couture, architecture and Place Vendôme into a recognisable signature. The original ring is engineered as four independent bands, each assembled without solder by hand and that mechanical “click” at the end of the assembly remains a shorthand for the collection’s technical rigour. The Quatre Classique Tube is primarily launched as a fine jewellery collection, but within it there is a High Jewellery torque as the headline piece.
The 2025 Quatre Classique Tube is a deliberate reworking of that founding idea. Under Claire Choisne’s direction, the four historic patterns are now reinforced with a polished gold tube that runs around and through the motif. The tube alters the collection’s proportions and surface treatment, pushing Quatre from a band into an architectural silhouette. This makes the new pieces read as compact sculptures as the graphic purity of the smooth tube contrasts with the textured archival bands, making the motif more structural and more visible at a distance.
Technically, the update is both conservative and ambitious. The tube motif is realised across a range of formats — an angular bracelet with a concealed clasp, a two-finger ring conceived as two polished tubes that meet at the centre of the hand and flexible neck rings that are either solid and seamless or open and supple. Conceptually, Quatre Classique Tube keeps the collection’s archival language intact while translating those motifs into a more monolithic, architectural vocabulary that suits current preferences for wearable statement pieces and modular styling. The campaign, titled Into The Tube, frames the new work in the same architectural language and features Maison ambassadors including Alexa Chung, Han So-Hee, Xiao Zhan and Mila Al Zahrani.
Practical refinements underscore the collection’s modern intent. Ergonomic shaping prioritises comfort while preserving the strong graphic line. Clasps are hidden inside the central motif to present an uninterrupted tube around the wrist or throat. A bolo tie variant offers adjustable styling via a sliding tubular motif. Two sets of new earrings include a motif stud whose stem can be unscrewed and converted into a clip for attachment to clothing and a pared-back small hoop that rethinks the collection’s more recognisable hoop into a subtler form. The range is offered in yellow gold, white gold and pink gold, with a brown PVD option that adds a contemporary tonal contrast.
Tiffany & Co. — Bird on a Rock by Tiffany
Jean Schlumberger’s Bird on a Rock, first created in 1965, is among Tiffany & Co.’s most recognisable designs. It features a whimsical bird perched on a gemstone that became emblematic of the Maison’s imaginative spirit. In 2025, under the direction of Chief Artistic Officer Nathalie Verdeille, the motif enters a new phase. The Bird on a Rock by Tiffany collection spans both High Jewellery and Fine Jewellery for the first time, extending an icon of post-war design into a language suited to contemporary taste.
The collection is unified by the wing motif. The Fine Jewellery line distils the bird into more abstract and versatile forms. Figurative designs retain the bird in platinum and 18k gold, perched on gemstones in miniature, while the “Wings” series renders plumage as sculptural, asymmetrical patterns. These scalloped and feather-shaped pieces interlock when stacked, their diamond pavé appearing to float thanks to hidden settings. Convertible earrings offer four wear options, underscoring the collection’s modular spirit. The result is jewellery that can be adapted to mood and occasion while carrying the maison’s craftsmanship signatures — intricate texturing, layered settings and precise articulation.
To launch the collection, Tiffany has unveiled a new campaign captured by Carlijn Jacobs and styled by Katie Burnett, starring actress Zhang Ziyi and model Abby Champion. Shot against a dreamlike sky of clouds, the imagery reinforces the collection’s central idea of soaring freedom and the optimism of love. Together, the High and Fine Jewellery designs position “Bird on a Rock by Tiffany” as a faithful homage to Schlumberger’s imagination, but reshaped for a new generation of collectors.
Dior Rose des Vents — 10th Anniversary Updates
Dior Rose des Vents celebrates a decade of cosmic inspiration with new jewels. An odyssey in miniature, the “Rose des Vents” line has guided Dior Joaillerie since 2015, when Victoire de Castellane first transformed the maison’s heritage into wearable constellations. Inspired by the compass rose in the gardens of Christian Dior’s childhood home, Villa Les Rhumbs in Granville, this maritime motif — an eight-pointed star and the couturier’s favourite number — became a symbol of guidance, luck and imagination. Over the years, it has evolved into a universe of playful, reversible pieces that invite personal expression.
For its 10th anniversary in 2025, the collection expands across all four stories. New ring designs and an exclusive hidden watch join the original “Rose des Vents” jewels, maintaining the playful duality of motif and gemstone sides. The “Rose Céleste” story, born in 2018 and inspired by Dior’s fascination with divination, introduces a reversible necklace and earrings that offer multiple wearing options. An adjustable hook on a standout necklace allows it to be worn as a belt or a long or short necklace, offering a versatile range of styling choices.
The “Charms” story, launched in 2022, pays tribute to Dior’s “gris-gris”, concealing diamonds and stone motifs known only to the wearer, heightening the sense of secrecy and intimacy. Meanwhile, the “Étoile des Vents”, a 2024 innovation, reinterprets Dior’s lucky star at 30 Montaigne, now enriched with three new single earrings and a constellation necklace in gold and diamonds, reinforcing the collection’s celestial narrative. Together, the 2025 additions bring a renewed luminosity to “Rose des Vents”, inviting collectors to hold Dior’s talismans close, to play, to layer and to style their own personal compass.
Qeelin Wulu Collection
Since its founding in 2004, Qeelin has built its identity around reinterpreting traditional Chinese symbols through a contemporary design lens. Central to this vision is the Wulu collection — a motif deeply rooted in Eastern symbolism as a representation of prosperity and protection and is recognised for its distinctive gourd silhouette.
In 2025, Qeelin expands on this heritage with two new reinterpretations that extend the Wulu story into fresh creative territory. The first is an update to the Wulu Mini Solitaire line that sees the transformation of the original ring design into a series of everyday staples including necklaces, hoop earrings and a cord bracelet. Maintaining the signature double-diamond detail, these new expressions focus on versatility and wearability, allowing the Wulu motif to transition seamlessly from statement to staple while preserving its auspicious symbolism.
The second introduction, the Wulu Eternity Bangle, elevates the Maison’s craftsmanship through a study of texture and light. Set in 18K white or rose gold, eight diamond Wulu motifs appear to float within a finely grooved band. The interplay of sandblasted and polished surfaces creates a dynamic contrast that captures movement and depth, while its minimalist form invites stacking and layering.
Together, these new designs reframe the familiar Wulu language for modern collectors, translating a centuries-old symbol into contemporary jewellery that merges cultural resonance with global sophistication. Qeelin’s 2025 novelties reaffirm its ability to balance tradition and modernity, giving classic designs a wearable presence.
Chaumet — Bee de Chaumet 2025 Reimagining
Chaumet’s Bee de Chaumet continues its evolution as a renowned emblem of the Maison’s heritage. Originally inspired by the bee as a motif of power and vitality, the collection has been reinterpreted for 2025 with new forms that enhance wearability while preserving its graphic identity. The latest designs introduce a fluid, second-skin construction in mirror-polished white gold and diamonds, expanding the collection’s visual language through supple parures and articulated silhouettes. These additions offer a more substantial alternative to the original creations, merging technical precision with comfort to achieve a seamless, luminous finish.
Signature elements such as the honeycomb motif are reworked into openwork pendants, bangles and rings that invite layering across yellow, white and rose gold. Pavé and mirror-polished surfaces alternate to create subtle contrasts, while new rose gold hoop earrings add a modern, luminous touch to the line. High jewellery interpretations showcase Chaumet’s craftsmanship through standout pieces, including brooches set with vivid gemstones such as an 11.07-carat sapphire and a 19.05-carat aquamarine. Each design reflects the maison’s commitment to translating natural motifs into architectural compositions, rooted in precision and proportion.
With this renewal of Bee de Chaumet, the house reinforces its signature by revisiting a historic symbol with clean geometry, adaptability and light-infused detail that resonates with today’s collectors.
Cartier — LOVE Unlimited
Few designs in modern jewellery history have achieved the cultural permanence of Cartier’s LOVE bracelet. Conceived in 1969 by Aldo Cipullo in New York, its distinctive oval shape of visible screws and lockable mechanism has transformed the idea of jewellery for couples into a modern emblem of commitment. For 2025, Cartier revisits this legacy with the launch of the flexible LOVE bracelet — a technical and aesthetic evolution that preserves the symbolism of the original while adapting it to contemporary lifestyles.
The new design replaces the “rigid” bangle with a fully articulated structure composed of miniaturised gadrooned links punctuated by polished screw motifs, maintaining the visual rhythm of the classic piece. Developed through more than a hundred design trials, the bracelet’s innovation lies in its flexibility that utilises a second-skin construction of 200 components connected by an invisible, patent-pending clasp mechanism that enhances ease of wear without compromising the integrity of the design.
This updated version allows wearers to connect one bracelet to another through its clasp system, transforming a single piece into a continuous chain — a symbolic gesture that expands on the original concept of shared love. Available in yellow, rose and white gold, it also comes in a complementary ring form that mirrors the same proportions and detailing on a smaller scale.
By introducing movement and modularity to one of its most recognisable designs, Cartier reinforces the enduring relevance of the LOVE collection. The flexible version reflects the Maison’s ability to reinterpret heritage through technical prowess, ensuring that what began as a countercultural statement in the 1960s remains a highly sought-after emblem of modern intimacy that consumers have come to know today.

Vittori, a US-based startup, has revealed its first hypercar. It’s called the Vittori Turbio. It was designed in collaboration with Pininfarina using artificial intelligence (AI).
“The goal of the car’s design, creation, and production, while certainly prioritizing utilizing cutting-edge technology, is to create a car that returns and celebrates the beauty, movement, sound, and energy of classic, historic cars. The goal of this car to create something that would stand the test of time,” a Vittori spokesperson said.
The Vittori Turbio reminds us of modern McLaren supercars with fluid surfaces and flowing lines. The front end features a hexagonal nose section, flanked by large intakes and slim headlamp clusters housing L-shaped DRLs.
The large side intakes look similar to those on the McLaren 650S. The rear design is quite unique, though. The centrally mounted quad-exhausts have the same hexagonal design as the nose section. The car has a large diffuser and floating buttresses along the edge of the rear fenders.
The interior of the Turbio looks pretty straightforward. It comes with a sporty steering wheel with a multitude of physical buttons and switches, paddle shifters, a digital instrument console and a central touchscreen in a portrait orientation.
At the heart of the Vittori Turbio is a 6.8-liter V12 hybrid that features an electric motor mounted on the front axle. The powertrain was developed by Italtecnica and delivers a combined output of 1100 hp. The company claims the car can sprint from 0-62 mph in an estimated 2.5 seconds.
Prices for the Vittori Turbio start at $2.5 million. Production will be limited to 50 units.
In a beauty landscape dominated by fleeting trends and viral hacks, luxury skincare and make-up continue to prove their staying power. What sets these products apart is their combination of scientific innovation, clinical validation and enduring sensorial appeal, allowing them to remain staples in daily routines rather than short-lived experiments. The concept of “endurance” here is twofold: these products are long-standing pillars for the brands themselves — built on proprietary technologies and research — and they are also enduring essentials for consumers — designed to elevate daily skincare rituals with lasting results.
2025 has seen the reimagining of several revered products and formulations to meet the demands of modern consumers with updated technologies, enhanced textures and sustainability-focused packaging. From serums that harness the skin’s natural repair mechanisms to creams and emulsions designed for long-term anti-ageing benefits, these products demonstrate that high-performance skincare can be both habitual and transformative. By focusing on daily essentials with measurable, science-backed results, this collection highlights luxury brands that have successfully merged innovation with practicality — ensuring their place in the long-term skincare arsenal of discerning users.
Clé de Peau Beauté – The Serum II
Clé de Peau Beauté The Serum has long been positioned as a cornerstone in luxury skincare and its latest evolution — The Serum II — reinforces that role. Developed as the first step in a routine, its formula draws on the brand’s Skin Intelligence science, which explores the skin’s ability to repair and defend itself. Key ingredients include Lemon Myrtle extract — known for its protective qualities — and Kelplex, derived from kelp with light-absorbing properties. Together, they help maintain skin vitality and guard against external stressors such as dryness. Radiant Lily Concentrate further enhances hydration and strengthens the skin barrier.
Clinical studies demonstrate measurable results, with users reporting improved radiance within a day, smoother texture within a week and greater plumpness in two weeks. After a month, the skin shows a noticeable renewal effect, underscoring the serum’s positioning as a daily essential rather than a short-term treatment. Light in texture and absorbed quickly, The Serum II also reflects the sensorial refinement that distinguishes Clé de Peau Beauté, offering efficacy alongside making it a daily essential for maintaining a luminous complexion. By delivering consistent results over time, it exemplifies the type of skincare that remains foundational in a world of ever-changing trends.
Shiseido – Ultimune Power Infusing Serum
Shiseido’s Ultimune has become one of the brand’s most recognisable products and its latest formulation strengthens that legacy with measurable improvements in skin resilience and visible ageing signs. Positioned as a daily serum suitable for all skin types, it delivers benefits across radiance, firmness and smoothness. The formula is powered by Power Fermented Camellia+, a proprietary blend combining camellia petal extract, camellia leaf extract and camellia oil. This complex works to slow the visible progression of ageing by more than 50 percent, while enhancing the skin’s ability to defend itself against external stressors.
Clinical testing supports its efficacy: within three days, 98 percent of users reported healthier-looking skin. After four weeks, nearly all participants saw a reduction in dryness and wrinkles and at eight weeks, improvements were recorded across 11 markers of ageing — including tone, elasticity and fine lines. Independent assessments showed increases of 51 percent in radiance, 38 percent in firmness and 63 percent in smoothness. The texture combines richness with ease of absorption. Infused with micro-capsules that transform on contact, the serum creates a lightweight veil that leaves the skin looking immediately revitalised. The 2025 formula emphasises resilience and long-term skin health, reflecting the brand’s philosophy that true beauty is achieved through consistent care. This balance of high performance and daily practicality underscores Ultimune’s role as an enduring staple in Shiseido’s portfolio.
Lancôme – Génifique Ultimate Recovery Serum
Lancôme extends the legacy of its Génifique line with the launch of the Ultimate Recovery Serum, positioned as a new benchmark in repair science. Developed over 27 years of research, the serum addresses accumulated skin damage with a focus on strengthening recovery and resilience. At the centre of the formula is Beta Glucan-CM, a patented medical-inspired active that accelerates skin repair and enhances its ability to recover from external stress. Each dropper contains 90 trillion Beta Glucan molecules, complemented by hyaluronic acid for hydration, liquorice extract to target irritation and dark spots, and Lancôme’s established pre- and probiotic fractions to support the skin microbiome.
Clinical studies showcase that within one week, participants reported visible improvements in overall skin quality, reduced redness and enhanced stability. Independent testing recorded a 25 percent reduction in redness, a 30 percent decrease in fine lines and a 40 percent improvement in smoothness. Longer-term use over eight weeks showed sustained improvements across texture and tone. Designed for compatibility with all skin types, including sensitive or post-procedure skin, the serum features a lightweight, fast-absorbing texture and a precision dropper for controlled application. Available in a refillable 50ml format, Génifique Ultimate represents both scientific advancement and practical everyday use, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone in Lancôme’s skincare portfolio.
Estée Lauder – Advanced Night Repair Eye Lift + Sculpt
Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair Eye Lift + Sculpt Eye Cream continues to elevate the skincare benchmark that its predecessor — the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair line — built with a formula designed for daily use and long-term results. The treatment delivers visible improvement across the four key eye zones — lids, under-eyes, crow’s feet and inner corners — with clinical studies showing results in as little as four weeks. Ninety-six percent of participants reported visible lifting of the eyelids, a significant measure of its efficacy in an area often resistant to topical treatment.
Where many products only target surface concerns, this cream is designed to address both static lines and the more challenging dynamic wrinkles formed through repeated facial movement. By reinforcing the skin’s resilience, it reduces the tendency of these temporary creases to settle into permanent lines over time. Results from extended trials highlight measurable improvements, including a 35 percent reduction in dynamic crow’s feet, 33 percent reduction in under-eye wrinkles and a 43 percent reduction in smile lines. The formulation draws on Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair actives, including the exclusive Night Peptide to support the skin’s natural renewal cycle. A dual-weight hyaluronic acid blend — referred to as 2HA Volume Filler — helps restore plumpness and cushion against fine lines, while Hexapeptide-8 contributes to lifting and firming the delicate eye area.
Lightweight in texture yet cushioning on application, the cream glides on easily without tugging and leaves the eye contour feeling refreshed. Suitable for all skin types and ophthalmologist-tested, it avoids common irritants and is packaged in an FSC-certified recyclable carton. Recommended for twice-daily use, it represents Estée Lauder’s commitment to pairing science-backed performance with everyday practicality, ensuring its place as a dependable staple in any modern skincare routine.
La Prairie – Skin Caviar Hydro-Emulsion
La Prairie’s Skin Caviar Hydro Emulsion exemplifies a modern approach to hydration and anti-aging, offering a lightweight yet highly effective daily moisturiser that targets firmness, fine lines and overall skin quality. Formulated with the brand’s signature Caviar Hydroessence, it is designed to support the epidermal structure while delivering immediate and long-lasting hydration, making it suitable for combination skin.
Clinical and instrumental tests underscore the emulsion’s performance. Within 15 minutes of application, hydration levels increase by 70 percent, with enduring results maintained over time. Extended studies conducted over eight weeks on 51 participants demonstrate measurable improvements in wrinkle count, depth and volume, alongside a 38 percent increase in skin firmness. The formulation works across three key dimensions of youthful skin, improving the quality of the dermal-epidermal junction, stimulating hyaluronic acid production and reinforcing the mechanical resistance of the skin barrier.
The emulsion’s ultra-lightweight texture glides smoothly across the face, absorbing instantly and leaving a soft, silky finish without residue. Recommended for morning and evening use after cleansing, the product can be layered into an existing skincare routine and followed with UV protection during the day. By combining visible anti-aging effects with a practical, innovative formulation, Skin Caviar Hydro Emulsion maintains its position as a reliable skincare essential.
Sisley – Sunleya Anti-Aging Sun Care SPF50+
Sisley’s Sunleÿa Anti-Aging Sun Care SPF50+ represents the evolution of sun protection into a corrective, science-driven treatment that goes beyond traditional SPF. Designed for daily use, the formula not only shields skin from UV damage but also actively addresses visible signs of photoageing — including wrinkles, loss of elasticity and dark spots — through the brand’s innovative G+ Complex. This blend of natural-origin ingredients delivers dual action. The prevention of glycation and photo-correction via deglycation alongside supporting skin firmness while smoothing the appearance of fine lines.
Sunleÿa’s advanced formulation targets the multifactorial causes of premature skin ageing. By mitigating oxidative stress, supporting elastin fibre function and protecting against glycation, it addresses the root mechanisms behind wrinkling, reduced suppleness and uneven tone. Key actives include Botanical Hydroxytyrosol for antioxidant defence, Edelweiss extract for hydration, Japanese Lilyturf extract to strengthen the skin barrier and Vitamin B3 to promote an even, long-lasting tan. Witch-hazel leaf extract further helps preserve elasticity and reinforces the skin’s structural resilience, preventing the accelerated ageing associated with solar elastosis.
The product’s velvety, non-shiny texture absorbs effortlessly without leaving residue, making it suitable for everyday application. Water-, heat- and sweat-resistant, it encourages consistent use, ensuring skin is protected while maintaining comfort and a natural finish. Recommended for generous application before sun exposure and reapplication every two hours or after swimming, Sunleÿa seamlessly integrates with a daily anti-ageing routine, delivering high-level protection alongside visible corrective benefits. With SPF50+ coverage, photo-corrective action and a sensorially enjoyable formulation, it positions itself as an enduring staple for modern sun care.
La Mer – The Balancing Treatment Lotion
La Mer’s The Balancing Treatment Lotion is formulated to meet the needs of oilier skin types, offering a lightweight yet effective first step in a daily skincare routine. Designed to refine pores, reduce shine and energise the complexion, it provides a foundation for clearer, more translucent-looking skin from the very first application. Consumer testing demonstrates immediate results, with improved skin translucency after a single use, a 55 percent reduction in surface bumps after eight weeks and visible pore refinement in just one week of twice-daily use.
The formula draws on La Mer’s signature Miracle Broth, created from sustainably harvested Giant Sea Kelp and transformed through a months-long bio-fermentation process. The newly introduced Marine Balancing Bio-Algae further helps regulate excess sebum, balancing the skin and supporting a clearer, fresher complexion.
Application is straightforward as the gel-like hydrogel texture transforms into a silky fluid that absorbs rapidly, delivering hydration without heaviness. Applied after cleansing, it acts as the essential first step to prepare skin for subsequent treatments while reducing visible shine and restoring balance. The Balancing Treatment Lotion exemplifies La Mer’s approach to sensorial skincare, offering a reliable solution for those seeking healthier skin.

Powered by the exclusive Longevity Patent developed in collaboration with Harvard Medical School, the cream stimulates key longevity proteins to enhance cellular activity, promote collagen and elastin production and support natural plumping mechanisms.

Fall is in full swing, and that means now is the time to seek out autumnal experiences like leaf peeping and pumpkin patch wandering. While shoulder season is a great time to find international travel deals, it is also the perfect time to explore more of the U.S.—and a new study has the perfect domestic trip inspiration.
Japan Rail Pass released a report on the best autumn train journeys in the world, using information from Tripadvisor reviews, Instagram hashtags and seasonal weather data. Using all of that, a ranking of the best train rides with the clearest skies and most idyllic experiences was created.
The train route winds through Colorado and New Mexico through the San Juan Mountains. Designated as a National Historic Landmark, the railroad dates back to the mining days of the 1880s. The 64-mile train route the authentic steam train crosses the border between Colorado and New Mexico 11 times.
On the official website for the train ride, the experience promises “zigzagging along canyon walls, burrowing through two tunnels, and steaming over 137-foot Cascade Trestle.” The train includes views of wildflowers, geologic formations, deer, antelope, elk, fox, eagles, and sometimes even bears.
With an average rating of 4.48, the reviews for the experience are overwhelmingly positive. “The weather was perfect, and we absolutely enjoyed every moment of our train ride,” one customer wrote on Tripadvisor.
One of the biggest appeals of the train ride is the open carriages on the route, which allow passengers to sit and enjoy the fresh air.
