The Bugatti Tourbillon’s standout feature is an 1,800-hp plug-in hybrid powertrain built around a high-revving V-16, but Bugatti didn’t forget about the aerodynamic work needed to make use of the immense power on tap.
The goal was to surpass the Bugatti Chiron in slipperiness, Paul Burnham, chief engineer for the Tourbillon, said in a video posted on Bugattis’ YouTube channel Thursday. Lower aerodynamic drag will be necessary to match—or perhaps surpass—the top speed that defined the Chiron and its predecessor, the Veyron.
A major change compared to the Chiron is the Tourbillon’s smaller greenhouse, which reduces the new car’s frontal area. But much of the development work focused on smaller details in order to optimize airflow across all surfaces.
Bugatti Tourbillon aerodynamic testing
Aerodynamic development work started with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations, before moving to wind-tunnel testing. That process, which began about 15 months before the Tourbillon’s June 2024 unveiling, started with a half-scale model made from over 250 3D-printed components, and studded with over 100 pressure taps to measure airflow.
Engineers moved up to full-scale prototypes in early 2024. By that time much of the development work had already been done with computer simulations and small-scale tests; putting a full-scale car in the wind tunnel mainly served to validate that work, Burnham said in the video.
The aerodynamic bodywork is draped over a new chassis that shares nothing with the Veyron and Chiron platform. The clean-sheet opportunity allowed engineers to package the new naturally-aspirated 8.3-liter V-16, along with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and three electric motors. This setup replaces Bugatti’s long-serving quad-turbocharged 8.0-liter W-16, and is expected to get the Tourbillon from 0-60 mph in just 2.0 seconds.
The design, meanwhile, aims for timelessness by eschewing flashy trends. Instead of a digital screen, for example, it features an intricate mechanical gauge cluster for the driver, something designers hope will remain appealing well into the future.
Production of the Tourbillon is scheduled to start in 2026. Just 250 examples—all of which are spoken for—are planned.
It’s been almost two years since the traumatic day when I had to be rescued while traveling solo in South Africa. BYD’s new Super e-Platform is claimed to add 250 miles of range in five minutes of charging

China’s BYD, the world’s leader in electrified vehicles, is pushing the boundaries when it comes to EV charging, with its latest technology claimed to deliver charge times almost as quick as filling up a gas car.
BYD, on Tuesday at a launch event in Shenzhen, revealed the Super e-Platform, which the company claims can charge at rates of up to 1,000 kw—enough to add 400 kilometers of range, or nearly 250 miles, in five minutes of charging. This estimate is likely based on the CLTC test cycle used in China, a more lenient cycle than what the EPA uses.
There aren’t many charging stations that can deliver charging rates that high, but BYD plans to roll out some of its own. The company said it plans to build over 4,000 charging stations across China, delivering rates of 1,000 kw or more. BYD also said it has developed a liquid-cooled charger that can deliver a maximum rate of 1,360 kw.
“To completely eliminate users’ charging anxiety, our goal is to make EV charging as fast as refueling a gasoline car—achieving oil-electric parity in charging speed,” Wang Chuanfu, BYD’s chairman and president, said in a statement.
BYD Super E-Platform charging
The key to the high-speed charging is the Super e-Platform’s 1,000-volt electrical architecture and silicon carbide power chip with a voltage rating of up to 1,500 volts. Fellow Chinese automaker Nio has come close with its 900-volt setup in the ET9, while Volkswagen Group is readying a high-performance EV platform with a 980-volt electrical architecture, though it isn’t expected to be ready until late this decade. It is being developed by Porsche and will also be used by Audi, Bentley, and Lamborghini.
There are still some unknowns, though. It’s not clear what type of battery chemistry is used in the Super e-Platform or the maximum sustained rates during charging. BYD also hasn’t said how big the batteries in the Super e-Platform will be.
The Super e-Platform is entering production soon, but it won’t be limited to high-end models with limited production. It will initially be available in the BYD Han L sedan and Tang L SUV, priced from about 270,000 renminbi (approximately $37,000 at current exchange rates). For these models, the platform will feature a single motor rated at 778 hp and able to rev to 30,000 rpm.
The average age of a Ferrari customer is heading lower, according to its CEO.
In an interview with CNBC published on March 16, Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna said 40% of new customers to the brand are below the age of 40.
That compares to just 18 months ago, when he said that figure stood at 30%.
It’s an impressive result for a brand whose current most affordable model starts at just over $230,000 and, according to Vigna, sells around three-quarters of its production to existing customers.

Ferrari has traditionally limited production of its vehicles to retain exclusivity, but to meet rising demand, it has slowly been increasing volumes. Last year, it delivered 13,752 vehicles, which was 0.7% higher than the previous year and a new record for the brand. Nevertheless, the wait time for delivery is still more than two years.
The demographics of Ferrari’s clientele could change again soon with the launch of the brand’s first electric vehicle. Camouflaged prototypes for the model, which will be a sleek SUV, have already been spotted, and the debut is scheduled for Oct. 9. Deliveries will start in 2026. According to Vigna, some prospective buyers for the EV have indicated that they are only interested in EVs and don’t want to purchase any of Ferrari’s gas cars, suggesting the EV will further the trend of bringing new customers to the brand.
Eventually, due to emissions regulations, almost every Ferrari is likely to be either a hybrid or an EV. The automaker in January said it currently anticipates that hybrids and EVs will make up 80% of deliveries by 2030, with the remainder being gas cars. Looking further ahead, Vigna last year suggested that synthetic fuel may be an option for keeping gas engines alive in a world of zero emissions.

A prototype for what is believed to be the first Audi Q9 has been spotted ahead of an expected debut early next year, which would likely mean a 2027 model-year arrival for the U.S.
The prototype appears to be a particularly sporty variant, likely an SQ9. Clues that suggest this is an S model include the four round exhaust tips. Like other S-badged Audi SUVs, the SQ9 should ride on air suspension with adaptive dampers.
The prototype bears similarities to those seen for the next-generation Q7, expected to debut next year. However, there are key differences, such as a longer wheelbase—indicated by the stretched rear door—and a longer rear overhang, which should help provide additional space for both cargo and a third row.

Rumors of a potential Q9 have circulated for years, and Audi has already filed trademarks for the Q9 name. Reports from less than a year ago also claim that the automaker’s U.S. dealers have been informed that a full-size SUV with third-row seats is coming soon.
Full-size SUVs remain popular in the U.S. and China, Audi’s two biggest markets. However, the automaker has yet to confirm official plans for one.
The last concept car produced by legendary Italian design house Bertone is up for grabs.
That car, the Aston Martin Bertone Jet 2+2, is scheduled to be auctioned off by Dore & Rees on Mar. 29. Unveiled at the 2013 Geneva auto show, it was slated to go into production, according to the auction house, but Bertone’s bankruptcy the following year halted those plans.

A shooting-brake version of the Aston Martin Rapide, the Jet 2+2 was commissioned by Aston collector Barry Weir to help celebrate the automaker’s century, and to mark 60 years of collaboration between the British automaker and Bertone.
The Jet 2+2 was inspired by the Bertone Jet 2 concept 2004, which was based on the first-generation Aston Martin Vanquish and was retained by Bertone after its tour of the auto-show circuit. It was even dusted off and updated to be displayed alongside the Jet 2+2 at the 2013 Geneva show. The Jet 2 itself was inspired by the Bertone Jet, and Aston Martin DB4-based concept shown in Geneva in 1961.

The concept is fully drivable, showing 24,169 miles, according to the auction listing. It’s mechanically identical to a standard Rapide, boasting the same 6.0-liter V-12 producing 476 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. That will get this one-off Aston from 0-62 mph in an estimated 5.3 seconds.
Aston Martin planned to build 10 customer cars, according to the auction listing, but Bertone shut down before they could be completed, making the Jet 2+2 one-of-a-kind. The Bertone name was revived in 2022 for the GB110 supercar project, with plans for 33 cars designed to run on fuel produced from waste plastic.

The primary deal applies to the Seattle, WA (SEA) to Papeete, Tahiti (PPT) route, where the airline has discounted the round-trip flight to $750, a spokesperson for Air Tahiti Nui shared with Travel + Leisure.
The fare also includes checked bags and meals, ensuring that it isn’t a slimmed-down low-cost fare where travelers are on the hook for extras. Travelers can book the fare on Air Tahiti’s website through May 31, 2025, for travel until December 31, 2025.

In 2010, the Audi RS5 made a debut at the Geneva Motor Show, it marked the return of Audi’s high-performance RS badge to the A5 lineup, creating a strong rival in the luxury sports coupe segment. As the spiritual successor to the B7 RS4 coupe, the RS5 was designed to offer everyday usability combined with track-worthy performance, bringing Audi’s Quattro all-wheel-drive expertise into a refined yet aggressive package.
Even though it was not officially sold in the USA until the year 2012, the RS5 was Audi’s answer to BMW’s M division and Mercedes-AMG, blending cutting-edge technology, sharp handling, and a thrilling naturally aspirated V8.

Despite the competition, the RS5 carved out its niche as the Quattro-powered alternative to the traditional rear-wheel-drive German muscle coupes, offering a balance of daily usability, all-weather performance, and high-revving excitement.

2015 Audi RS5
In 2015 Audi RS5 marked the final model year for the first-generation RS5 in the U.S. before being discontinued. To commemorate its last production year, Audi introduced limited-run packages that added exclusive styling and interior enhancements.
The RS5 Sport Edition Package featured Sepang Blue or Daytona Grey paint, along with a gloss black grille, window trim, and mirror caps for a more aggressive look. Inside, it included a black interior with contrast stitching in either red or grey.
Meanwhile, the RS5 Exclusive Package offered Audi Exclusive paint and interior trim options, along with an Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob for a more premium touch.
The 2015 model year was also the last to feature Audi’s naturally aspirated 4.2L V8, making it the final RS model to carry this high-revving engine before Audi transitioned to turbocharged powertrains.

Audi RS5 (First generation) Common Problems
The first-generation Audi RS5 comes with a few common issues. Ever since I first heard David Broza crooning about the river in Seville, I knew I had to experience it for myself.
My first encounter was through a tape, then I caught him live during a breathtaking sunrise performance in a hidden spot in the Negev back in the mid-90s. But the most thrilling moment came recently at the Spanish ambassador’s residence in Israel, where Broza was the guest artist.
Seville, much like Valencia, is a charmingly compact city that’s a breeze to explore. Both cities are graced by rivers—Seville’s being the Guadalquivir, one of Spain’s largest.
Now, I adore Valencia, but for me, Seville takes the crown when it comes to that enchanting vibe. It feels like Andalusia has been dusted with fairy magic, creating a unique atmosphere that’s simply unmatched.
I often call Seville the most romantic city in Spain, but don’t be fooled—it’s also a fantastic spot for families!

There might be no direct flights. I always check Expedia for the latest options, so feel free to do the same! The easiest way is to fly into Barcelona or Madrid and then hop on a flight or train to Seville.
On our last trip, we took the train from Barcelona, which was a direct ride of about five hours and 45 minutes. It stops briefly at a few stations, but you can sit back and relax without having to change seats. Honestly, it was a super comfy experience that saved us about four days of travel time compared to driving from Barcelona.
Once we arrived in Seville, we rented a car for a circular route, returning it at the end of our stay. While the city has decent public transport options like Uber and a not-so-great bus system, renting a car is ideal if you’re planning to explore more of southern Spain, especially with kids in tow.

Let’s dive into some interesting tidbits about Seville! It’s the capital of Andalusia, one of Spain’s 17 autonomous communities. The city itself has around 680,000 residents, while the metropolitan area boasts about 1.5 million.
One of the city’s symbols, NO8DO, is everywhere you look. The number 8 symbolizes a ball of wool (madeja in Spanish), and together it means “no me ha dejado,” or “she did not leave me.” This motto harks back to a tale from the 13th century when citizens remained loyal to King Alfonso X during a siege, earning their city this unique emblem of gratitude.

When to Visit Seville?
Like much of Andalusia, Seville is a winter haven for folks escaping the chill of northern Europe. Even though temperatures aren’t drastically warmer than in Barcelona, the sunny weather is hard to resist.
Most months offer lovely weather, but be wary of the summer heat—July and August can get scorching!
This place is a gem! It’s got a stylish design that feels like living inside a Zara Home catalog. The bed is super comfy, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the shower? Luxurious!
I recommend snagging a room on a higher floor for a bit more privacy. Plus, the central location in the old town is unbeatable.
Oh, and did I mention the rooftop pool? Perfect for those sunny afternoons!
This charming spot has a historic vibe that’s hard to beat. If I didn’t have family members with more traditional tastes, I’d have booked it in a heartbeat. It features two cozy double bedrooms right in the city center, and there’s even a lovely terrace.

If modern design is more your style, this place fits the bill. Each apartment accommodates up to four guests, and there’s a shared swimming pool to cool off in. It’s located in the delightful Triana neighborhood, just across the river.
We ended up here last time after our first apartment had hot water issues (Christmas, no less!). H10 is a reliable chain, and we found the room comfortable for our family of four.
The breakfast was a delightful treat, too!
It’s centrally located but just far enough from the hustle and bustle to enjoy some peace. Plus, there’s parking nearby!
It’s one of the largest in the world and showcases beautiful neo-Moorish architecture. You can even take a little boat ride on the river that runs through it.
Trust me, you won’t want to miss the vibrant flamenco performances that often take place here!

My kids love renting a carriage to explore the park, and it’s a fantastic way to soak in the scenery. It’s expansive, so if you want to see a lot, consider some form of transport.
There are playgrounds, restaurants, and plenty of greenery to enjoy.
This royal palace dates back to 712 AD and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its stunning architecture and rich history, it’s a real treat to explore.

Housed in a beautiful 17th-century building, this museum boasts an impressive collection of works, second only to the Prado in Madrid.
The courtyard garden is a lovely spot to relax, especially on a Sunday morning when local artists showcase their work.
Jonathan Sit is from Hong Kong and studied hotel management at Cornell University in New York before obtaining an MBA from the National University of Singapore. After joining ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove in 2014, he worked his way up to become General Manager. In October 2023, he was named marina developer and consultant company SUTL Enterprise’s Regional General Manager, Marina Division to oversee the ONE°15 brand’s management and development, and its newly created events-management arm.
How will the Singapore Yachting Festival 2025 differ from last year’s edition?
As a yachting showcase, the Festival continues to attract more Asia-Pacific premieres, reinforcing its role as a key platform for yacht debuts in the region. On display at the centre of the on-water exhibition is the 56m Echo Yachts catamaran Charley 2 and innovative yacht designs from 10m day boats to 20m enclosed flybridges, offering buyers more variety and advanced features.
Multihulls are dominating the show, with 16 models ranging from 15-50m, reflecting their popularity in the region, and more 25-40m production superyachts will be on display signalling a growing market interest in larger luxury yachts in larger luxury yachts.

The Exhibition Pavilion on land encompasses innovative marine services and boat technologies featuring more than 30 brands, with some new names including FMT Yacht Transport (USA, yacht transporter), S Com Tech (Korea, catamaran builder), Cimolai Technology (Italy, lifting equipment), Australian Marine Lifting (customised lifting and handling equipment), Nautic Clean (Italy, boat cleaning solutions), Entropia (Monte Carlo, yacht brokerage) and Fantasea from China is launching a new catamaran at SYF 2025.

As Regional General Manager, Marina Division at SUTL Enterprise since October 2023, you look after marina operations, business developments and events management. How did your scope evolve?
As General Manager of ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove, I was responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations as well as driving the growth, expansion, and strategic direction of marina operations, consultancy, and regional development for over a decade. This experience enabled me to combine operational expertise with a deep understanding of boating culture and luxury lifestyle trends, ensuring that our marinas consistently deliver world-class experiences.
My new portfolio covers three areas: marina management, marina development, and the newly created events management arm. This role has taken me beyond the shores of Singapore, and I am now able to forge strategic partnerships across the Asia-Pacific region through various business engagements. Client interactions originally meant for exhibiting at the SYF have become great connections and contact points for potential marina developments around the region, and vice versa. We hope to bring more ONE°15 Marinas to our boaters in the region soon.
In your role, you have identified and evaluated potential marina properties and sites globally and across the Asia-Pacific region to expand the ONE°15 Marina portfolio. In your view, which projects present the best growth opportunity?
We see significant growth opportunities in markets such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia offer varied and pristine cruising grounds and rising interest in luxury yachting. For instance, Phuket is a high-potential location due to its strategic position and popularity among superyacht owners, so there is demand for additional berthing capacity.
Most interesting perhaps is what’s happening in Hong Kong, where around three to four marina sites have been identified by the government for potential development into yachting facilities. That’s extremely rare for this established boating market.
What have been the results and response to the ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove upgrade and reconfiguration since 2019 to better accommodate superyachts and enhance the marina’s facilities?
The response has been overwhelmingly positive. The SG$7 million (US$5.25 million) upgrade allowed us to accommodate a greater number of superyachts – up to 220ft in length – while enhancing our berthing capabilities and onshore amenities such as upgraded power pedestals, attentive concierge services, and the introduction of sustainable features have been instrumental in securing our Platinum Gold Anchor Award, Superyacht Ready Accreditation, sustainability certifications and other accolades as a world-class superyacht hub. The feedback from yacht owners and industry partners has been particularly encouraging.

How do you plan to maintain or increase this level of excellence, on the environmental side in particular?
